Has anyone been to this track?

Heading up that way to check out the race later this month and just curious.

Viewing areas? Facilities? Parking? And so on.

Thanks.

This is the first Ive heard of that track WV. Let us know how it goes.

Found this elsewhere

The discussion in the place I found that is along the lines of lack of run off in some areas, and the addition of a chicane at the end of the straight to slow down the bikes for safety but most commentary seems positive, although many are like JKD and had not heard of it (the comments from people who claim to know it).

Some comments below, the second may be relevant to you as a viewer

The South end goes down hill right past the pit in for it on the map posted the left right turns are down hill, the left kink flatten out and the next double apex right goes back up. There are a bunch of YouTube clips from trackdays and WERA races of the layout, it is a fun place to do trackdays. I hope they do a chicane on high speed kink on the North end, at trackdays no passing is allowed there due to the limited run off, even with air fence if you ran off there you'd be moving.

I think the track itself will be fine for racing, supposedly they added a chicane before the final turn, wall is pretty close to the track there. What I'm interested in seeing is how they will handle spectators, this is the first big event to be held here, and this area is starved for motorcycle racing, should be a good turnout. Where everyone will park and watch from will be interesting for sure, last time I was there, you couldn't walk around the track, just had to watch from the spectator hill area. kinda limits photo opportunities and such. Maybe if the event pans out for them, next year will see spectator mounds around the circuit. Maybe even some bleachers!!LOL! I'll be there Friday by noon, will try to post some pics.

Don't know .... about it, but if it's near Shittsburgh, how great can it be?

Take pics and post. Go see Benny Solis, tell him you're rooting for him.

It's an AMA/MotoAmerica event, you won't have any issues with parking, viewing, tix, etc. It will look empty. But at least you can get up personal. All MAmerica events are open paddocks.

Jums, if you look back (and I think he did this on twitter as well), he put a totally heartfelt tribute out there and told a few stories of his experiences with Nicky and they were a bit like that told by Jack Miller ............. totally showing who and what Nicky Hayden was and why Nicky has left the sport far worse for his passing.

Gentleman and strong personal characters are hard to find in the world of top level sport, but Nicky was just that (and remains so as he is still in the memory of so many).

I didn't see West's words but I did see Jack's. It was touching and he one of the ones who seemed genuinely heartbroken over Nicky. No matter what Dub says I will always be a Miller fan and vow to make fun of his mug in the most respectable of terms

I know your taste in music so I am not surprised you are a fan of guys who look like ugly girls. Westy is the man. I've also been a fan of his for a long time. Such a genuine dude.

So? pics, stories, thoughts, etc.?

So? pics, stories, thoughts, etc.?

Sorry... Got home last night and flew out this morning for work.

Actually, I was surprisingly impressed. I mean, you can tell it is new, and it couldn't handle a large event yet, but they handled the MotoAmerica race well.

Track - On the technical side. Two long straights, then the rest is s turns and nice corners. Has nice elevation changes in some areas. Do need to work on the run off areas. No gravel or pavement, just grass. One nasty wreck that would have been a little less nasty with gravel.

Really only a handful of spots to watch the race do to only having access to one side of the track. The other side is fenced off and is hill side going down to the road you drive up on. But, the one hill we camped out to watch the race was great. Could see a long straight with a bunch of over tacking going into the corner, and a at least three s turns on the the back side.

Would be nice if a bridge was put in and some seating was added to the infield and figure out how to put some facilities on the back side of the track.

Facility - Like I said earlier, worked for a MotoAmerica race, but not ready for a bigger race. Struggled a little Saturday with port a johns and food, but they saw the issue and brought in more of both for Sunday, which was nice to see.

Has a large camping area that looked 60% to 70% full.

Four MotoAmerica folks were staying in the same hotel as us, and they were just as impressed as we were. Said the owner did everything they asked and the groups was much bigger than they had expected for the first year.

Only ..... they had track announcers on the while showing the race on Bein Sports on the big screens.

Over all, great event and plan on going back next year.

Sorry did a .... jobs on the pictures.

Excellent pics! Thanks.

I'm impressed, it look interesting. Probably best (if not only) time to run a race there during year. Decent camping area. Is there an RV trackside view area? How close was it to civilization? Your thoughts on manufacturer participation and vendors area.

Did you happen to go see Benny Solis?

I didn't walk down to the camping area, but I think there was a view of one of the straights. Wouldn't have been a great view.

We stayed in Beaver Falls, which was about a 10 minutes ride over. Track sits close to a few small towns, with Pittsburgh being about 40 minutes away.

The manufacturers and vendors could have been better. Suzuki had demo rides all weekend and Yamaha had all their new bikes setup at their tent, but that was it. No Honda or Zawa. Harley was there! Only one or two accessory vendors.

It did look there was a lot of room to grow if needed. Everything (except the camping) was on new pavement and there was a lot of unused field to pave or use for parking if needed.

Really good first showing, B-, but with many opportunities to improve on.

Being an hour and a half away, I have high ups for it.

Have to agree on the pics and if I can say this ................. .... it is good to see an 'old school' style of circuit that has not been sanitised by myriads of gravel traps and tarmac run off areas, mixed with staid and boring concrete backgrounds.

That circuit, based on the photos I have seen here and from Westy just seems like a good old character style of place and whilst I cannot say anything about perceived safety I will say that it is so good to see circuits of this type still around.

That's a beautifull part of the country, especially in the summer. Rolling hills, old farms, sweeping pastures. Would be a nice ride out, just to get to the track.
