<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I agree, it's really difficult to judge drivers from seperate eras. Therefore I think it's impossible to say who the best one is. For sure he's one of the best and definitely the best of his era.
I'm not a MS fan, but I do appreciate his achievements!
I dont even care bout all the statistics. Yes, he won 7 titles, and yes he has the pole record (and a lot more!!!), but I think, even if he didnt win 7 titles, he would still be considered as one of the greatest ever!!
Michael was a great talent when he entered F1. He showed everyone that he was different than the others. Michael is a very complete driver, no doubts about that. He's good in the dry, in the wet, in the quali, during the race. He's also not a lazy driver. He always worked very hard to achieve his aims. That's what I like about him so much.
Of course he pulled some dirty tricks in the past, but that only shows he wants to win at all costs. He doesnt'care about 2nd place. He's a real winner imo. I don't see him as a cheater.
Okay then put it this way.
Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher, battling for the win for the world title at the final race of the season. Senna drives perfectly, Schumacher can't beat him, time is ticking away. Schumacher decides in the heat of the moment he's going to do anything it takes to win the world championship, so he butts Senna off into the gravel trap and ends his race, Schumacher wins and escapes the marshall's decision. He wins his 1st world title and begins his road to success.
Is this right?
