Former 500cc, MotoGP and World Superbike race winner Garry McCoy has announced his involvement in the 2006 World Supermoto Championship. McCoy should thrive in the Supermoto environment that encourages McCoy's brand of tire smoking, aggressive riding in contrast to the 'in line' environments of his last homes in MotoGP and World Superbike. McCoy will compete aboard a Red Bull sponsored KTM SXV450. Check out the article courtesy of Alpinestars right here.

Well he was sidelined, but instead of disappearing, he got proactive and as far as I know organised his own supermoto ride. Im surprised a rider of his calibre couldn`t find a ride anyway. What about somwhere like AMA? Mladin vs. McCoy. That`d be somthing. Mladin`s perfect lines against McCoys ultra-cool slides. It`d also only leave enough room for one Yank on the podium.... Until we send young Josh Brookes over there too.

Speaking of superetard, how go those Aprillia V twins go? Now that`s a dirtbike I could aspire to own.

I know in supermoto trim they've been very impressive. I don't know much about how they've been performing in MX1 though.

Been regular top 10 for a while now,a top rider would have no trouble putting it on the podium.Like to see Everts on it,personally.

His nephew ( or some other relation) Daniel McCoy is riding in the Australian Supermotard championship and is coming 24th the fourth round in .... (Alex Gobert is in 8th

)
i cant find the program i picked up when i was at the track but from what i can remember he was racing for Team McCoy ....
so did Garry make his own team just for the Aust. Supermoto or for the World Championships?

Daniel McCoy was riding for Motorex KTM

The racer that formed his own team in the supermoto was Kevin Magee, who has HIS nephew racing for him

Couldn`t see someone with McCoy blood doing that bad in racing..... unless theyre on a slow ugly aqua coluored peice of crap from Malaysia.

nah ... believe it or not .... but that is Daniel McCoy's rank .... he IS in the Aust. supermoto ... and he is coming 24th ... the only catch is he only rode at the first round and hasn't raced in the 2nd 3rd and 4th round .... haha
