Looks like MurderMarc isn't calming down anytime soon! From Crash.net
Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez says he is looking forward to serving up more of the dramatic action that lit up the Dutch TT at Assen.
The reigning MotoGP world champion battled throughout with Valentino Rossi in a pulsating race that ended with Rossi ploughing through the gravel on the final lap at the chicane after the pair touched.
Marquez had to settle for the runner-up spot behind Rossi but seemed back to his best after using the 2014 chassis on the Honda with the new HRC swingarm.
“Assen was something! It was a very complete weekend, but overall, I think it was very nice and spectacular for the fans,” Marquez said.
“For me, it was important at this GP to be able to feel comfortable during all the practice sessions and to work well with the new chassis. And that's how it was.
“The team worked very hard always, setting their minds on having the best set-up for the race on Saturday. I'm very thankful and grateful to all of them because I felt great on the bike.
“On Friday, we were really close to taking the pole position. What a shame! The truth is that Valentino deserved it as he gave a solid performance throughout the weekend,” Marquez added on his boxrepsol.com blog.
“During the race, I had a good start and a good pace, so Valentino and I were able to separate ourselves from the group.
“We were wheel-to-wheel throughout the 26 laps, and those are the races that get the fans most excited, so I look forward to giving them more of that.
“It was the last time that a race on Saturday was going to take place in Assen and thanks to the exciting memory of this race I will never forget,” he added.
“In any case, the most important thing is that the vibe was great during the three days. We returned to the podium to fight for the victory, and that was our goal from the beginning.”
