making a move

I'm making a move back to the USA on Thursday.  Minnesota to be exact.  My GF is tired of warm sunny dry Spanish weather and wants to make a move, so I picked a place as opposite as possible to see how things go!

I will greatly miss the constant motorcycle atmosphere here.  I'll have to see what Brainerd has to offer.  It's been a pleasure sharing stories of Vespas, Clasicas and Spanish GPs with you all.  Being states side makes Indianapolis, Austin or Laguna Seca an option.  See ya there!

Welcome to the Surveillance State!  :to_keep_order:

To stay out of trouble, always remember:

Minnesota, eh?  I'm sure your GF will just LOVE the winters.

Brainerd offers a bunch of inexpensive activities.  A friend lives in the area and visits often.

Elkhart Lake (Road America) is not too far.  They host a number of great events, as well as numerous track days.

Big Brother is watching...  I would make a joke that this is mildly racist, but I don't think it would be funny.

Welcome home Bat.  .... Spain. They're bankrupt...again.

i wish you well in your move Baturro but your reasoning sounds as sane as saying, "Ive lived a clean life and grew weary of it but now Im going to take up mainlining heroin.

Minnesota has about 2 months of good weather a year and 10months of frozen hell. Coming from your back round I would say the transition may be difficult.

And the large carnivores that haven't been hunted to extinction get really busy in those 2 months as well. Just thought I'd add that in case you thought it would only be the "State" watching you socialist Euro troublemakers with hungry eyes.

Thanks JK!  I know what I'm getting into.  Half Minnesotan and have lived there during the university years.  It's great weather year around!  Just need to know how to enjoy the bitter cold!  Ice fishing, snowmobiling, working on bikes in the winter...

The GF wanted a change from Spain, and she's definitely going to get it!

Good luck with your move baturro, sounds like a big adventure for you and a trip into the unknown for your girlfriend. I hope you're both very happy there :)

So no hard feelings when she packs it back to Spain the first day of sub-zero weather?
