Louis Salom passed away in crash

RIP...

Nothing caught on video...kind of a strange corner on the circuit for this to happen.

I think that didnt show it on purpose in case this happened, not really respectful to being showing the death of the guy

So motogp.com puts a security camera video up of the crash on their site and makes it free?

Could they be anymore insensitive?

People want to know, myself included.

It was a strange corner to have it happen. But given he slid across the ground at the speed he did, it looks like he might have made contact with the bike. Hard to tell.

P.S. they have all the live footage from Malaysia 2011 viewable if you have the video pass.

That crash was horrific.
Looking at the footage it looks like he dropped the bike whilst still travelling dead straight (locking the front under braking) and then the bikes hits the air fence, rebounds and he slams straight into it.

Tragic day for the sport. RIP.

It seems like a .... move to post the footage, but no doubt if they didn't people would suspect some kind of cover up, maybe they could have waited a few weeks? IDK.

I saw the video (but didn't see it on motogp.com). It looks like the bike hit the airfence first and Luis crashed into his own bike (or even into whatever laid behind the airfence?). Not to start the blame game here, but quite obviously the tarmac runoff played a significant role in not slowing either bike or rider down.

R.I.P.

You can blame F1 for this crash happening. The tarmac runoff wouldn't be there if it wasn't for F1.

Completely to blame. I have to question whether or not they should even race at this track. I won't be complaining if they chose not to.

Yes. But then, Mugello had to replace parts of their gravel runoff with tarmac (though only the first few meters became tarmac, from there to the air fence it's still gravel) on request by the MotoGP safety commission, iirc.
