Lorenzo will Race in France

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (michaelm @ May 12 2008, 02:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>All credit to him, and he will undoubtedly race in pain, but his injuries don't sound as bad as melandri's injury last year. A low grade talar dome fracture is not that big an issue.
Good call - Marco got on the box in California to secure his ride on the desmo after his untimely encounter with Kurtis who was otherwise preoccupied sightseeing.

I'm sure I remember Jorge at Le Mans - following another nasty highside, carried around the paddock during qualifying, and tapdancing with his doppleganger after winning the race the next day. Y'never know.

Aye,they`ll splint him up with old chubba lolly sticks

They are just about all brave (or crazy) guys who can and will ride injured and in pain.

What was impressive with jorge was that despite nearly killing himself once and just saving a repeat incident he seemed quite undeterred and was riding just about on the pace by the end of the race.

And don't forget doing better than most of the rest of the field including several former world champions....Jorge is Great!

What a great young rider and warrior, rides well hurt & against adversity. Fast everywhere, no matter what and always up for a tough race. A very fast rider and a great racer. Characterisitics of a future champion. I predict he'll bounce back on the podium this weekend which will be a great effort considering his raw talent, only his 5th MotoGP race, the pressure of being the new star in the paddock and beating his legendary teammate & the injuries he is carrying.

seems as if this rider should be renamed Jorge "The MOISTURISER" Lorenzo...
<

every one seems to be getting themselves wet thinking about him...
<

hes good no doubt but from the last couple of posts you would think he just solved the middle-east conundrum, fixed the food shortages and re-calibrated the climate, all whilst podiuming on the worst bike with the worst tyres on unfamiliar tracks....

if he is as good as you all say, then, WHY DID HE HIGHSIDE IN THE FIRST ....... PLACE?

+1

He's definitely good, and on one of the best bikes, but only time will tell how good he actually is.

Lorenzo is already 2nd in the championship, has won a race already, 3 poles? & was joint championship leader before his injury which would have kept most riders out and he still finished 5th? Also, he's beating Rossi already and is on the supposedly inferior Michelin tyres that Rossi couldn't compete on.. To summarise, Lorenzo is damn good!

The championship is not about how quick they can get up on the podium or the result lists, but about who is there in the end. If it was about getting there quickly Biaggi did even better by winning his first ever race in the top class, and that was on a 500 2-stroker. A bigger achivement in my opinion.
That said, no doubt the boy got talent, but then again, we knew that from his 250 days didn't we.
Btw. who was it that were sooooo tired of worshipping, hmmm...?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AB#1 @ May 13 2008, 03:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>on the supposedly inferior Michelin tyres

come on now, the bike lorenzo rides is the bike rossi was developing so many years and he gets it ready.. and now rossi has to work back from the start with his tyre change.. personally, i don't think that bridgestones suit the m1 more than michelins and that's natural.. but, with the michelin quali tyre much better and jorge an obviously better rider than CE and JT who could claim these poles? only pedrosa. and remember the start pedrosa made in his first season back in 2006.. 2nd in his first race and 1st in his fourth.. with the 990. it was expected that with an 800 lorenzo would do much better! plus, lorenzo has no pressure of course.. first of all he is a rookie and he is rossi's teammate noone will say anything if he keeps losing!

anyway.. i agree with you in the end.. lorenzo is damn good!

but rossi is better!

Oh C'mon, there's so much ... kissing it's not even funny.

Had he had two broken wrists, yeah it would have been impressive, but the fact you use your feet much less doesn't make him a ....... hero in my books.

And c'mon, are you going to compare 08 M1 on 08 Michelins to a 07 Yamaha on 07 Michelins?

Historically speaking yes, so far this year not so much. Beating Rossi in the same team is enough to be impressive, injuries or not. There is bravery involved in riding a bike through the pain barrier when you are in a wheelchair but at the end of the day not crashing is more impressive and more effective in the championship.
