Sorry Franco
<

I just read it on another site as well..

So, Lewis was supposed to be on a one stopper????
Really too bad they changed the strategy, I think he would have had chances to win if they hadn't...that's indeed ...... up...

Hopefully he'll win soon!!!!

How annoying is that, but i guess with two competitive cars the strategy will have to favor one of them. How long do we have to wait for Lewis' turn, thats what i ant to know

Few days ago I said that Monaco will never be boring for me, but yesterday I managed to fall asleep twice.

McLaren was so dominant, I allmost feel sorry for other guys.

About Alonso - Hamilton relations/team orders... well nothing unexpected in F1...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Orrmate @ May 27 2007, 11:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Nah, I do like it. I still enjoy watching the races. Although they aren't as exciting as they used to be, so I imagine its hard for newcomers to get into it.

especially if they're already into two wheel races.

1. Yeah street races are pretty crap, F1 cars have outgrown them by too far, and need real circuits to stretch their legs. But for spectators i think the street races are excellent because of how close the public can get and the increased sensation of speed that is experienced.

2. Standard

3. F1 is difficult for people to be introduced to now because compared to many other motor sports it is much more of an engineering competition. That doesn't create the compelling spectacle that bike racing does. But for people who can remember the past, or who like the engineering thing its still great.

The engineering side of it is slowly being drained by the mugs running the show. With engine freezes and more and more restrictions it will soon become an overrated version of champcar if they're not careful (not that theres anything wrong with champcar, just that this is supposed to be Grand Prix racing for frig' sake).

I think in the future we will see more and more past F1 engineers moving to MotoGP, as it allows greater freedom to the engineers.

As for Monaco, while the racing might be boring, I think it should remain on the calendar. Although I think it should be the only street race.

Although I obviously don't like team orders, I think they were to be expected. With a track like Monaco, where mistakes are easily punished, I don't think he wanted his drivers pushing each other when they had a minute lead over third place. So in that respect I can understand why they were issued and I can live with it.

I think the problem is that the money grabbers in charge of F1 at the moment can't decide if they want an engineering battle or a driving battle. Creative freedom is being destroyed by the regulations being brought in, but aerodynamics are still the deciding factor in a cars performance. Rules are being talked about to make the racing more about drivers, but with the cars the way they are now they still wont be able to follow each other. I think its very difficult to get a decent balance between driving and engineering competition, so maybe they should focus in one direction more. Champ car has focussed completely on driving, but its ...., but focusing purely on engineering (kind of like now) will make a lot of people bored. Through all of that the bosses need to keep the big money, glamor and prestige so i think its a bit of a tough job.

It gets worse for McLaren
<

wow,i wonder why they desided to break the rules and favor alonzo over hamilton,if this is true. if they wont let lewis have a fair crack at the championship i hope they dont expect to keep him, i bet there will be a fast red car for him if he wants next year.

The media (and me) got there hopes up really high leading up to the race and when Hamilton didn't win it they are looking for ways to lash out and blame something. I'm over it, Alonso is a world champ for a reason and he had that covered.

i must admit i smiled when i read this

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>"But one of the things you have to come to accept is that if you are a member of this Grand Prix team, for the vast majority of the time, there is equal opportunity for drivers to race. But Monaco is not one of them.

if this is the case then whats the point, why race, why not just do a time trial instead.

Exactly. Qualifying might as well be it for the weekend. Stupid track for this sport.

Eventhough I can understand your opinion, Monaco should be part of the F1 calendar!!

Drivers do enjoy driving there, and winning the GP of Monaco is usually very special to them.
