Pedrosa's fortunes seem to vary wildly. If Nick Harris and co are to be believed  this is because he is so small and light.

I can totally understand that he's not got the weight to get tyres up to temperature and putting pedro next to petrucci must be like having 2 toy cars on different scales next to each other.

I have a solution. I think they should make pedro a gel lined suit. Seriously, though, can they not add some weights to him whenever he's struggling because of being too light?! Or put heavy things in his pockets? Racehorses get weights in their saddle cloths to bring the stuff up to weight so could they not do a similar thing?

Or is that just nonsense? Why else might he sometimes be 20th and sometimes be vying for a top spot?

Nearly all the front runners in GP are teeny weeny, MM isn't much bigger himself and even the "bigger" guys like Rossi are no bigger than a welterweight boxer.

Yeah, it's kinda ......... There is no rule that you can't make your motorcycle heavier. Everyone wants them lighter, right? They only care that the bikes are over the minimum weight. With the power these bikes make, they could add 15-20 lbs to Dani's Honda to compensate for the tires and still be competitive, IF he really is that good. My 2 cents.

Maybe they should try MORE ballast. :p What about 15 kilos? Since Honda has always thought that Pedrosa's size was an advantage, I can't imagine they would add too much weight unless they were really desperate.

It's not just his low weight. Like Lorenzo, Pedrosa is a little longer and smoother on the brakes. His turn in also smoother than many of the other boys. Dovi would be in trouble under certain conditions, too, without the hammerhead fairing. Which is why he uses it some times/places and not other times/places.

EDIT: Since we are talking about D.P. : dani pedrosa interview-motorsport

Can't get heat into the tires is a ........ excuse. Pedrosa is a worthless rabbit turd that has failed for 11 years on an alien bike tailored to him for much of that time. He's such a loser piece of .... that he's not worthy of a thread discussing anything about him other than why does Honda continue to give a test rider the 2nd factory seat

:giggle:

While I'm not going to be quite as harsh I do kind of agree. I like Dani, he's had a fantastic career with 3 world championships to his name but the big one has eluded him despite the fact he's been in a factory team since 2006 and he's had 3 teammates pick up 5 MotoGP championships between them(possibly a 6th this year) while he's had none so it's not like he's not had the equipment.

Also it hasn't helped that he's so fragile, every time he falls he breaks something.

Dani being the lightest rider is something that's completely in his control. There's nothing preventing him from workingout and eating to gain more weight/muscle.

This is a good point. We live in an age when Beach bodies are attainable in short periods of time. Nutrition and supplements are down to a science when it comes to targeting the type of body you desire. The first thing the NFL does to rookies is bulk them up in a short period of time.
The weight argument is just an excuse for a rider that regularly finishes four places behind his teammate.
Marquez isn't much bigger than Dani either

He tried, but he says in this interview that once you gain muscles you lose agility.

He wouldn't lose agility if he maintained a good stretching routine. Obviously, he wouldn't want to get bulky like a bodybuilder... but I don't see how a 5 kg gain in muscle mass would hamper his agility. With the money and resources he has available to him, there's plenty of personal trainers that could help him gain weight and maybe even increase agility.

ok, I get it, he`s a lazy ............ who don`t want to be bigger better faster more or don`t know how to achieve it

Possibly, as I've said boxers are a perfect example of people who can put weight on without it hampering their agility, they tend to have their own nutritionists sorting their diet and supplements out for them in order to help with that.

If it is weight hampering him(which I personally don't think it is) then he only needs to gain 6 or 7 kilograms because that's all Marquez weighs more than him.

I tend to believe him he tried but didn`t improve his results.
When I was young (15-18 years old) I played a lot of table tennis and I was getting good at it (second best in my school). In that time a lot of my friends start to lift weights to look better and impress girls :) I tried this too, but it ...... up my ping pong game big time, not in term of agility at all, but i lost that feel for the ball and the finesse required to perform well.
