<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Secondly, yes, Rossi is having some bad luck, but no, he is not invincible. The new chassis was a big step forward from Yamaha and Rossi had everyone's number in Le Mans even on a hard rear. But to say when the bike is set up halfway decently he is by far the fastest man on the planet is an overstatement. The likes of Melandri, Capirossi, Pedrosa and Hayden have shown Rossi is not as untouchable as everyone thought. He will not win a single race this season by a huge margin. There are too many challengers that can potentially be on their game at each round.
I think you have to go back three years before you find a race where Rossi were winning with a large margin, on a Honda. A few times he has been controlling the lead with a smaller margin but most of the time he had to fight for it ever sice he came to Yamaha.
I have a hard time to see that anything has really changed regarding Rossi. He is just as determined, just as fast, just as "dominating" as long as his bike are working but he never were untouchable.
He has had more than his share of bad luck, on the other hand he has been blessed with a near troublefree bike for many years now, except one rear tire that went bad in Brno 3? years ago.
If anything has changed it is probably that people now see that he also has his share og bad luck, it just happend to come in a lot in a short period.
Gibs on the other hand has a spell over him. Nothing can explain that
