Le mans-predictions 2011

all i know is, rossi will be challenging for a spot on the podium this weekend...first time i've said that all year. i doubt he'll be on the top spot, but a 3rd place is not out of the question.

i'm suspecting jlo to take the win with stoner or pedbot 2nd (i'm hoping it's pedders so rossi and stoner can duke it out where it really counts and not during practice and ....)

lorenzo and pedrosa fight for the win, stoner, rossi, simoncelli and spies battle for the last step of the podium

Stoner

simoncelli
<

pedders

whoever, I am interested to see how pedders does after his win and see how Rossi/ ducati does at this track.

Same top three as Estoril, Stoner closer without out of the seat moment & subsequent problems.

Pedrosa

Stoner

Lorenzo

Colin's quite handy here..but I said that at Estoril.

It'll rain, as usual.

1/Dani

2/Jorge

3/Casey

4/Vale

5/Marco

5/Edwards

6/Dovi

7/Spies

7/Crutchlow

8/Nick

Just wishing RDP was still on the LCR Honda.

Tight track, i dont see Ducati battling for anything near the podium, could be their worst finish of the year depending on who bins it.Stoner needs a win, he has got to start chipping away at the points. At the very least, he needs to finish ahead of Lorenzo.

Pedro

Stoner

Lorenzo

Spies

Simoncelli

Dovi

Rossi

Let's try to revive the championship:

1. Stoner

2. Pedro

3. Simoncelli

4. Lorenzo

5. Rossi

Let's try to revive the championship:

Control ECU, 22ltrs fuel, increased subsidisation to non factory efforts etc etc

Or, how about dropping Estoril and replacing it with Portamao, and binning Le Mans to return to Paul Ricard.

Interesting predictions here. No one picked Pedrosa in the Estoril thread (concerns about his operation, maybe) but I think even a fit Pedrosa will have a hard time winning at what in recent years has been a Yamaha track, so I'd tip Lorenzo, with Spies to finish ahead of Simoncelli.

If Pedrosa wins this one, he'll become the championship favorite, I think. If Stoner gets it, it will dispel his distant third at Estoril and confirm some of the pre-season hype.

Dani was sensational here on a drying track recently - (can't remember whether it was last year or the year before) he made a phenomenal late charge overturning Dovi in the process on the last lap. I thought he would tire at Estoril - if anything Le Mans is a more physical circuit given the harder braking, but the longer straights at least give him a respite.

2009 was when he put a last-lap move on Dovi that snatched 3rd from him; poor Dovi looked depressed after. But he sort of got revenge last year, when Pedrosa faded to 5th. Turned out Pedrosa's rear brake had a problem.
