launch control

Launch control is basically Wheelie control

You can start as hard as you want and the bike will only lift up so much, no fear of flipping over

Not too sure when it came out

As I recall, Ducati were one of the first to use it, so perhaps around 2003?

what is launch control?

were guys from 90s using it or it was not there at that time?
It's an electronic system that is programmed to cut engine power when the rider "launches" at the start. The purpose is to get the bike to accelerate off the line with minimal rider input, that is, it takes the "control" out if the human hands of the rider and gives that control to a computer so as to maximize "launch" acceleration.
