are going to be faster come race time
Now being that far from the front will CC and VR be able to make up the difference
without a setup change - unless maybe they are sandbagging

Yes, but temperatures of track and air are different in Warm Up morning than they are at Time of Race....
Warm Up Temp today - Air 16 c, and Ground / Track 30 c
Q temps yesterday - Air 18 c, and Ground / track 42 c
Tire get destroyed quicker, and bikes get hotter and perform differently in morning than in afternoon.....
