So, this year the Americans wont have the jump on everyone else with the extra track knowledge......should make a cracking race - I love this circuit and hope to get there one day to see the race
<

This is a tough one cause I feel that Nicky is gonna get the bit between his teeth and run like hell - but I think with the current form that Vale is showing, and the fact that he has track knowledge now - that he's goning to win.

I'd like to say Edwards will have a good race.......who knows! If he can get the set-up running like Assen, he surley should be able to get on the podium at least? - having said that - he didnt exactly have the best day yesterday did he?

Ok:

1. Rossi
2. Hayden
3. Kenny Roberts

A couple of q's...........have Dani, Stoner, Vermolen & Elias never raced at LS before?

What support races do you guys get anyway & why dont 125's & 250's race there?

Enjoy the race all those that are heading out there!
Ben.

p.s. Dont forget to visit the official site.......by clicking <<<that banner thats been running for a few weeks - its a very nice site!

Rossi needs a good grid possy cause if hayden gets on the front row he will just power away. If rossi is close on the first couple of laps he will take it. Like to see kenny on pole and podium! Hope hayden gets on podium too!

1.Rossi
2.Hayden
3.Kenny

Someone tell me how the ... Rossi won at Germany? Those times throught the weekend were nothing special. Pedrosa had his name all over the #1 spot before those lights went off!!

1. hayden ... can't go past him
2. melandri
3. rossi

dani and stoner im almost positive they haven't been on that track before.
vermeulen has been there before with WSBK and took a double win there in 2004
<

and elias ...? did he not race there last year?

is that generating money or anything for the US site or for this one?

Ah....forgot about WSBK - cheers Katt.

Re: Elias.......no idea why I put his name there...........I'm not functioning properly - time for another coffee me thinks!

Re: the ad.....the nice people at Redbull have paid for the ad to be there

Its the official site for the race.

I mostly agree, but it would depend on Hayden getting a clean start as well. If he gets behind Roberts or other strong heads/hard brakers he can be held up for a few laps.

He he, not that difficult.
His times in QP was not bad at all. His final times were bad but not the times he had on race tires. He had an excellent first stint with a string of good laps and he was practiaclly allready on race pace. He allso had a god moring warm up on sunday, further improving setup.

My guess for Laguna is:

1. Rossi
2. Hayden
3. Roberts

I think Roberts will be faster than Edwards.
Melandri and Capirossi are the podium wildcards here together with Edwards of course.
Danni will not be a factor, even if he has setup help from last year. I don't think he will be able to figure out the track in that short time. I assume that extra track time is not on the schedule this year, making it too difficult for the realtivly uexperienced rider.

rossi needs a grid 1 or 2 and im not sure it will be either but morgo spot on there m8, its a question of if hayden gets held up for me cus big fav in my book, i still think the yanks will have a big help,,

This is me being a homer but I'm still going to say Nicky. The form he's on will put him up front and I think it's time that he took one to the rest of the field in a straight fight.

1. Hayden
2. Rossi
3. Edwards

And Ben, as far as why 125s and 250s come, the only reasons I've heard is to cut down on traveling costs and because American fans aren't interested in 125cc and 250cc racing. They decided it would be a waste of the smaller teams' money. The support races we get are the AMA series, the only opportunity for guys like Spies, the Haydens and DiSalvo to show their stuff to the world.

Colin Edwards has been quick at Laguna in previous years so I hope he does well and finished with some high points.

My Prediction:
1) Pedrosa
2) Capirossi
3) Rossi

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>What support races do you guys get anyway & why dont 125's & 250's race there?

i was there last year, and they had AMA boys as support, also they had "legends of Moto GP" (500's) running 250 shifter carts, Wayney, Shwants, Spencer etc etc.... wish they would bring the 125 and 250's though..

1 Hayden
2 Rossi
3 Colin or Hopper....

Melandri, Pedrosa both DNF, Crashing in the Cork Screw...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Mavis @ Jul 17 2006, 05:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>1. Pedrosa

3. Roberts

Oi oi Mavis.......................fancy another bet do ya? Or should I make it fair (odds wise) and me be the one to nominate the winner - which I already have done.

I knwo you have faith in your boy - 1st time to the track though - I dont think he will get top 5 imo.

Mavis...whatever you're smoking can I have some too?
<
Pedrosa Hayden and Roberts??!?! Naaaahhhh...Pedrosa is good. But he's not that good. This is a new track for him and I don't think his teeny weeny little body can stand up to it. Could be wrong but hey....Here's mine:

1) Rossi
2) Hayden
3) Melandri.

Yamahamer....Melandri will NOT fall ok?!?!?!?

OK I know. If there's a place Hayden can win it's this one. But last year he did have the advantage over most of the field of being familiar with the track. No longer the case this year. Pedrosa and Rolling Stoner both new here. Definitely don't see them at the bottom of the grid but they won't be dishing out podium stuff either.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Yamahamer....Melandri will NOT fall ok?!?!?!?

he did last year, TWICE, in parctice (got a picture if him highsids'n in the cork screw)and the race (DNF)...i hope he doesn't, but no way he or Pedrosa get top 5.....

BUT, they did resurface the track, so i don't know....still sticking with my prediction.

1Rossi
2Hayden
3Capirossi
4Pedrosa
5Melandri
6Roberts...

I've got some doubts abouts the bridgestone's race tyres...capirossi's place depends on them....he has the laguna experience...not only from last year so if the bike is well he should be up. The same for Suzuki and kawasaki...

MM fell three times last year, Friday in the corkscrew and Saturday and Sunday in turn 10 if I remember correctly. Not one of his favorite tracks, I think he will struggle again. Chris the V should be on top form and may beat Johnny Hopper Show Stopper for the second race in a row. The 'Zooks will be on top form and as long as the Bridgestones can keep up, they will run up front.

ive bet against rossi time after time and ended up with egg on my face
<
but cant c nicky being beaten as he was very dominant last term,, on the young pup pedrosa its all down to him learning the track as quick as he can and i think he will,, mavis might shed a bit of light on the subject but i thought i read sumwhere last year that he adaps well to new tracks? mavis darlin?
<

1) Hayden
2) Roberts
3) Hopkins

Just off the podium, Vermeulen, Rossi, Capirossi. Pedrosa, Melandri and Stoner DNF's.

She should do a race for charity there sometime with riders such as Mick Doohan, Neil Hodgson and other greats. That would be great!
