Well...I'm starting to feel better today. Its only taken me half the week to recover. Note to sell, quit work before Laguna trip...(right Curve?) I've had to work these last couple of days, but honestly, I know its not nearly as bad as CaliKid, as his job is actually hard. Curve text me this morning, said he just woke up from a 48 hour nap. Kesh, it seems, does not sleep based on this thread. Well done sir, thanks for updating the PS crew in our comatose absence. Roger, Gator, and Arrabi are touring the north of Cali, so they are out of reach. Roger actually got back to my house last night, and is asleep.

So, I'd like to say, I have been humbled to have hosted one of the greatest groups of people ever assembled for a weekend of fun in the sun. I really can't begin to tell you how each and every one of them has effected me. Its all positive and it makes me a better person. I'd like to thank my wife and CaliKid, for this weekend would not have been possible without their support.

So where to begin? Well first of all, I really can't describe the good times we had, and the pictures don't do it justice. I really wish I could take everyone of my Powerslide 'mates' (a new word in my vocabulary) to a Laguna weekend. Its way beyond the scope of just a race, its an experience.

So lets start with the first arrivals of the PS contingent. Denali (yes, a PS member, Arrabi's daughter) arrived the week before Laguna weekend. She was joined by Arrabi a few days later. They've been to Cali before, and so I wanted them to experience something new, so naturally I took them to Mexico.

We found this good looking little Mexican girl at the beach. Her name was Arabitita.

So, I know he wanted to have seas food, so I took him to this little joint. Well...I'll let Arrabi tell the next story, but here are a few hints: Don't drink the water in Mexico (something I forgot to tell him, oops).

12411:IMG_0517.JPG]

12412:IMG_0521.JPG]

We had about as much beer as you can fit in this bottle the whole weekend. No .........

12413:IMG_0522.jpg]

Wilski arrived the following week on Monday, we didn't have time to go to Mexico, so I took him to the next best thing...taco truck. Which were so good that we hired them for a party the Wednesday before we left to Laguna.

So when I called Roger to ask him what he wanted to do on his trip to the US, I said, we can do anything, Disneyland, Hollywood, Universal Studios, etc. He is reply, he my sons want to go shooting guns because we don't have those in the UK. So I tell CaliKid, who brought an arsenal of guns, riffles, shotguns, and ..... I'm surprised he didn't bring an RPG, which I wouldn't doubt he thought of bringing. Even I was impressed, and I've seen a lot of guns. I was thinking of taking Rog and fam to a simple pistol range, but CK decided he wanted to go to a private range and fire off half a grand of bullets.

Go Obama!

12415:IMG_0532.JPG]

12416:IMG_0533.JPG]

Even our Texas connection was impressed.

12417:IMG_0534.JPG]

I wish I could upload a video so you could see Wilski blow his load. (Who kept saying ".... Disneyland, I'll shoot that ....... mouse!"

12418:IMG_0539.JPG]

Have you ever seen the movie 'Menace to Society'? Well, Roger has, he wording a line from the movie..."break yourself ......!"

12421:IMG_0558.JPG]

Its obvious Obama the boogieman has taken everybody's guns in the United States...right Pov. Hehehe Its all good, you can reply with a similar quip. I've met you, so I know how ........ you are and will not hold it against you.

You'd be surprised the appetite shootings guns all day can work up. So we had a little send off for the crew going to Laguna. I called up a few friends to come over and meet the friends who had traveled so far to be with us. With the taco lady in tow, we fired it up by unfurling a few flags. The boys from the UK kept asking me what they should bring, I told them I had only one request; I asked the boys to bring a Union Jack, but it seems my Brit friends are flag handicapped (as you may recall, they held their flag upside down at Silverstone.) Roger did manage to bring a Red Cross flag (not sure if he thought there might be some emergency or something). I suppose he is philanthropic that way, so I'll remember to donate some money to the cause. He also managed to bring one of those blue flags shown to lapped riders to get the hell out of the way.

12423:IMG_0629.JPG]

Kesh was the first to visit the taco lady.

12425:IMG_0580.JPG]

What happened to you in Mexico?

12424:IMG_0571.JPG]

Are you sure you want to have a second go at Mexican food?

12426:IMG_0581.JPG]

A few friends joined us for a proper send off.

I'm really not sure what's going on here. I think its some English ritual. Hey Pete, can you help me explain this?

12430:IMG_0597.JPG]

After a one two three eight beers, and its on. By this time the jetlag had set in for Kesh, who went fast asleep after this pic.

12431:IMG_0599.JPG]

The the bottle of Woods on the table. I told the girls it was just a wine and they should have a nice big class of the stuff.

12432:IMG_0604.JPG]

We were trying to hold back, as this was Wednesday, the day before we would drive up to Laguna. So we decided it would be nice if our guests would have some Woods and Pussers as we would be doing the same in a couple of days. Bottoms up MF.

12433:IMG_0619.JPG]

So Curve went missing before the tacos and returned with a massive appetite. CaliMeds...its plain good for you.

12434:IMG_0625.JPG]

Keep in mind, this was Wednesday before the weekend!

Have been patiently waiting for a comment from some of the dangerous behaviour police but strangely as you say there has been none.

Here is some dangerous behavior.

The boys might pull a muscle with all that smiling.

Well I know you made a bunch of excuses, but my offer still stands, if you come out to Laguna, I will pay for your 3-day ticket and paddock pass, and I'll throw in lodging and booze (in your case milk) to boot for the entire weekend.

I PMed Pinky on my offer, and as you can see, he took it!

"A few friends"??? Seem like half of East LA was there.
<
But seriously - that was a BIG-... group of friends that came for the Bon Voyage partee. The fact that everyone there was so warm and laid-back, bespeaks Jum's power to attract the best kind of people. I don't always buy 100% the "what goes around - comes around" theory but with Jum - that seems very much to be the case. He very much understands the concept of putting your bread (or in this case tacos) on the water.

Nicky said "good things happen to good people". So in a way, you can say I'm just trying to be like Mike Nicky.

She could fix a lot in 80 seconds.....well with me she'd only need about 30 seconds

Hey what happened to Sack Wack again this year. Was there a Palin convention in town

Made my day just looking at her for 5 seconds
<
She is a cutie

So after the Mexico trip, Hail to Obama gun salute, and Bon Voyage party, we finally get on the road to Laguna Thursday morning. Clarkjw had texted me the night before and said there may be a possibility he could jump on a standby flight clear across the country. Knowing Clarky, that meant he would definitely make it. Sure enough, early morning I get a text, ‘I’ll touch down in LAX at 9:30am. Sweet. By this time we are way running late loading the satellite, griller, DJ equipment, booze, and ..... I know I need to meet a guy with our camping passes at about 5:00pm at will call and I’m about a 5 hour drive away, so I’m thinking, no problems, as long as I’m on the road by 12 noon I’m good. Well I got up at 6:30 AM, and its now 10 AM and I’m barely closer to leaving. So CaliKid suggests Roger and him leave in his RV to pick up Clarky. Good idea. That is until I get a text from CaliKid 20 minutes late, ‘hey dude, I don’t think it’s a good idea that Rog take this diesel pusher (that means a big-... ....... RV) to LAX unless you are ok with him going to jail because he killed somebody out on the road.’ That bad? Reply, “worse” he says. .... me. So I start running and telling the boys, just put all the .... inside, we gotta go. Now what should have been a leisure trip to Laguna starts to be a hurry up rush.

I asked Clarky to take a cab to meet us north of LA and explain the situation. He jumps in a cab and we get off on an exit that CaliKid recommends. Clarky phones me back, ‘hey, that exit you want me to meet you, the cab driver says its 40 miles away!’ I’m like, ‘no ....... way man, its close. ‘ So I ask him where are you now, he tells me, and so we start to go back toward him. We drive exactly 5 miles and change and meet him at the exit. I’m like dude; you cab driver is on ....... crack! We all start laughing and now the trip is looking up, Clarky in the RV and its all good.

Calikid and Rog are now an hour away, ahead. Which was fine because I figured if anything happened to us he could just back us up. And an hour into the trip, KAAAABOOOOM! Flat tire! No problem I think, ...., I got roadside assistance with Triple A, and it’s upgraded to Premier Gold Card membership. That means these .... are suppose to respond within half hour, and I can get towed 100 miles. I can get free gas and tire change, and whatever I want…that’s what the girl said when she asked me to upgrade from my previous “Standard” membership. An hour and a half later, no sign of AAA. Jesus H. Christ, were are they sending this help from, Calcutta? So finally arrives this big ... tow truck with an equally sized driver.

12450:Big tow truck.JPG]

The first thing this .... asks me is, “so what kind of tools do you got?” I’m like, ‘why the hell you asking me, you’re the guy I called for help.” The dude proceeds on taking about 30 mins to just get the cap off the wheel to access the lug bolts. Actually, that is a ....... boldfaced lie; it was Curve who ended up taking the cap off for this Neanderthal to access the lug bolds. This .... was so poorly equipped, both with tools and IQ that he was trying to take the cap off with allen-wrenches. I .... you not. This .... didn’t even have the proper gear to take a rim cap off.

12448:Tire change.JPG]

So now we are 2-hours into this ordeal. The dude starts to take the lug bolts off and then says, do you have a wrench to take for the spare tire? I’m like, dude, you are asking for a lot of things, why don’t I just change the ....... tire. So I look through my .... and find vise-grip pliers. I end up going underneath the RV and slowly bring down the spare. I had the guy the spare, you need anything else?

12451:Vise-grip.JPG]

Dude takes another half hour to change it. Well when we got the blow out, we had to drive on the shoulder of the road for some time, and we picked up a nail or someshit on the trailer, which also ended up getting a flat tire. So I tell fat-fcuk, yo, we have another flat tire. He’s like, ok, get me the spare. Lucky, I had the spare inside the trailer and it was readily available. By this time its 2 ½ hours into this ......... So we decided to have a bit of fun an takes some picks with the moron.

12449:FU tire guy.JPG]

.

Finally, the job gets done. We start singing, “On the road again” by Willy Nelson. Minutes into our song….KAAAHBOOOM! Another flat tire!

This weekend was so amazing that it made it really hard to go back to the monotonous ........ of work and the other everyday crap of back home
<
I had to be at work at 2am and got home from the track around 1:30 am still a little pissed (drunk not mad) so i went straight to work after a quick shower, all I can say is that it was a super rough day. Being that I still had the beer ..... up until yesterday. We had drinks of all types since thursday. Ill try and get some stories in and fill in the blanks once everyone gets back home and starts Posting. I know all the boys( Keshav, Jumkie, Arrab, Curve, Clarky, Wilski, Chopper, Frosty, Gator and the rest of the posse) are probably still recovering as am I. Honestly I cant even remember some of the .... that I did, I just know that there was tons of Debotchery Alcoholism Pilaging Mayhem Kaos and all kinds of other misbehavior that you can expect from Powersliders[/font]

<
<
<

Nice recovery Barry.

You almost relegated yourself to Pinky like status

Did you notice that my "backtrack"/" back-in"was done by not using the back brake/back pedal ...... ie. I could have said "wha!!! I never said that" as some posters would do ....... but no I added more throttle to hopefully get the front back in the right direction
<
<
<

Edit ..... I see Jumkie spotted it:

Ah, I see you are using your backing it in skills to redirect yourself. Well done buddy.

throw more wood on the fire to put it out I say!!

If the captain of the Titanic had used the same technique ( slam it into Full speed ahead and throw the back/stern sideways! ) we would never even know of or remember the Titanic!!
