My brother and i just booked our flights and accomodation for the centenary TT at the isle of man. We are only going for the second week but i am hugely excited.

Is anybody else going or has anybody been?

Gah! Lucky bugger

Went 2 years ago, fully booked, thx 100anniversary.

Going Mugello, Barcelona and Donnington MotoGPs though, thats about it (3 races in a row?!?)

I'm going and I can't wait. Only got for a couple of days but I will be there for the parade, my dad is doing the mechanic duties for Mick Grant, so I should be in the paddock. I really hope that there are some old Honda RC's from the 60s I really want to hear what they sound like.
Its 10 years since I went to the TT, its going to be weird.

This is my first so i dont know what to expect, or where to go and what to do. Any advice/tips?

I was only 11 when I went so I can't really remember everything 100%, I remember that the racing was good to watch at the pub at Quarter Bridge as you'd see the bikes come flying down Bray Hill to a slow speed to take the 90 degree left and then accelerate away, Glen Helen was another good place to watch, but I honestly can't remember why.

Windy Corner up in the mountain section is good, but take a coat if you go up there cause the weather can change dramatically. I remember being stranded up there with my dad riding along the mountain and not being able to see my hands if I put it in front of my face. Thinking back I remember Ballaugh Bridge being a good place to watch to, just to see the bikes jumping but at 11 thats probably cooler to see. The speed on the final downhill section is amazing too.

With only being 11 I'm not really sure about the night life but I remember loads of partying along the Douglas promenade, topless girls on the back of motorbikes, people doing stunts and if I remember rightly there was a guy doing trials demonstrations. I do remember there being parties literally every night though as we stayed in what seemed to be a broom cupboard in this hotel and you could hear everything.

There are loads of good spots to watch from, you're probably best off searching the internet though as I said it was 10 years ago since I was last there and I've had a few too many concussions which have damaged my memory over the years.

Good on you Tom,
Hope you have a great time there too,

I have just booked to go to the Phillip Island and Malaysian rounds myself later in the year and can't wait for those races to come around.
