Jorge Lorenzo: Greatest 1000cc GP Rider In History

Well I guess that means Rossi is the greatest ....... failure ever.

Of the gp1000cc era. Just ahead of Spies.

Jorge has never been beaten in the 1000cc era - He has also been on pole every race in the 1000cc era.

Pedrosa & Stoner have never finished off the podium in the 1000cc era.

Edwards has never been beaten by a fellow CRT machine in the 1000cc era.

Rossi has never beaten Hayden or finished in single digit numbers in the 1000cc era. In fact he has never beaten him in any session in the 1000cc era.

Cal Crutchlow has never lowered his colours to his team mate in the 1000cc era

Ben Spies has never beaten a factory bike or satellite bike home in a race in the 1000cc era.

I should probably stop now

I'm certainly not waiting around till Stoner wins again!! Look what happened to waiting for the last GOAT to win again!

I realized that Jorge was the most underrated rider of the 1000cc era so I decided to make sure he gets his due.

He was actually probably the most under-rated rider of the 800 era as well. Since comparisons of stoner and rossi head to head have been rife, he actually stacks up well against stoner in the last 4 years of the 800 formula, the only years he competed. I title each, 17 wins vs 23 for stoner, 4th, 2nd, 1st, 2nd vs 2nd, 4th, 4th, 1st for stoner. His numbers against rossi other than 2 championships to 1 are pretty good as well.

Are your numbers right for Stoner in the 800 era?

Head to head just as has been done with stoner and rossi; jorge was winning a 250 championship in 2007 when stoner won 10 motogp races.

It is actually 23:18 head to head in motogp overall now after qatar 2012.

Oh yeah, forgot Stoner was there a year before Lorenzo. I've tried the old "but Rossi has more WC's" trick myself

If Stoner couldnt beat Jlo at one of his best tracks its not lookin good this season. Better learn not to burn up tires or he will be in 3rd all year.

I would have thought Phillip Island is his best track. 5/5

Besides you would be doing cartwheels if your man Rossi could bag a 3rd right now.

I thought it was tyres, but reports of his demeanour after the race lead me to think the arm pump thing is factual. He very much wears his heart on his sleeve, and not only doesn't dissemble but is probably incapable of doing so (cf his angst about the chatter problem in practice) so if he was happy post race he probably did have a problem he thinks is easily fixable.

Of course, if he does not have the physical endurance to ride out a race on these new big bikes for whatever reason it will stop him just as much as running out of tyres will.

The only way Stoner can make amends is to win Jerez ......... a voodoo track for him and more a Lorenzo and Pedro home track.

If he doesn't win there, he's all washed up .............

Somehow I reckon the lil kid with the sore little arm will bounce back. I like George, but that poncy little dance he did on the top podium was a bit disturbing. Please don't do that again...

I dont quite understand why people continue to question Stoners integrity at every opportunity. I think most of his previous statements about health problems, bike deficiencies etc have over time been proven to be correct. The only instance I can think of off hand where one of his statements proved misleading would be when he said that he would not attend Motegi last year....but that was naivety rather than dishonesty IMO. If he is to be accused of dishonesty in that instance then every rider on the grid bar Aoyama must also have their integrity called into question.

Out of curiosity is this the same arm he had the scaphoid operation on a few years back and could that be a contributing factor to his issues at Qatar?

Stoner to retire at the end of 2012?

He hasn't won since Valencia 2011. He might be getting a bit long in the tooth.
