Hi everybody

Given as things gone up to date
¿Do you think that jorge lorenzo can became title contender this season?
thanks

i think if he keeps things up the way so far, definatly a BMW. but i also think that if he consistantly finishes top 3 every race he is a condender.

He's already a title contender. The question is whether or not he can undo his current contention.

He doesn't have much time on the bike. I think he needs to rake in as many points as possible early on though. The repaved tracks have always been B-stone territory. If he hits his stride as they come to that section of the season, he'll probably end up frustrated and unable make a serious push for the title.

5 points can win or lose a title...so every little helps...

Jorge is definitely has a title shot...more so than 70% of the riders....the only think that will hold him back is 'arm pumping'....apparently he has suffered from it in both races so far....so if it keeps up then it will require some surgical intervention which may lessen his title chances...

I think Lorenzo has been very surprising to be so good so soon, he can challenge for the podium consistently and be very fast at some rounds, maybe win a couple of races as the season goes on. But I don't think he is a top challenge contender just yet, he's been in a great position to win a couple of races but not quite been able to do it. Next year I think he can be a strong contender with the experience of a full season and development behind him. He is definitely the #1 Yamaha rider and the team should focus its development & future on him, not on Rossi who's era has ended.

I think it will be alll about Pedrosa v Stoner as the season races on to its ultimate conclusion, with Pedrosa taking the title.

Having said that its a great season with many competitive riders and bikes, there is the chance of a different podium each round?!

You forgot to mention "wet races"! The wet will extinguish his chances!

of course hes a contender. but it's a long season & lots can happen for better or for worse.

I think he is a contender because he wont fall too many points behind but I can't imagine he will finish anywhere other than 4th. His debut has been incredible but these are tracks where there has been tests and have both been dry races.

Jorge has certainly proven himself a top contender but I think his success will depend on the possible bad luck of others. Ie - Stoner and his team not being on their game like last year at damn near every race, Rossi having some unfortunate crashes (or taken out), Pedrosa having some bad finishes. I think though it is entirely possible that Jorge can pull a Hayden style championship, that is winning the overall by staying the most consistently fastest rider. If he can stay in the top 5 all year on all races. However his undoing may be just what others have been mentioning, the dreaded wet race. But who knows, maybe a 4 stroke GP bike will have better feel for him in the wet? Too many uncertainties at this point, but still fun to think about.
