I love Jonathan Green in the booth for the WSBK races. Watching races with his commentary give me an idea of how the Brits enjoyed Murray Walker for F1. How does Green compare to Murray?

Here are some quotes from the Philip Island WSS broadcast:

"Foret is back in the foray!"

"And LeBlanc draws a blank...nevermind"

"Foret, STOP looking back! McCoy is there, TRUST ME! When he gets there I WILL TELL YOU. I WILL RADIO IT DOWN TO YOU."

No, just no.

Murray atleast had some sense and impartiality. All Green ever does is shout at the top of his lungs and show nothing but unbridled love for all things Australian.

James Allen is more of a Murray Walker than Jonathan Green, and that is saying something.

Jonathan Green is undoubtly one of the shittiest commentators my ears have ever heard. Im glad we had the aussie feed for PI I cant imagine the guy stopping for a breath after what happened in the first race.

If I want to hear an irritating shrill, I'll ignore my girlfriend

Murray still comes to australia once a year and does some commentary at the adelaide V8 supercar street race, held on the same week-end as the former adelaide F1 race. He is as enthusiastic and full of good cheer as ever, and I still miss his F1 commentary; as has been said he was always fair-minded and the murrayisms contributed to the entertainment.

I don't think much of any of the current F1 or bike racing commentators; we used to get julian whatsisname and his compatriot for the bike racing in the old days both of whom were excellent.

Murray walker is a legend inside and out of his sport. To even suggest that this poor commentator and complete nobody is even comparible is misjustice to Murray. For a start Jack Burnicle does a far better job of WSBK than Green could ever dream of and both of them are inferior to Keith Huewen.

Superior to all of that is Toby Moody who is by far the best commentator i have heard in any sport since Walker retired, he is the only one who can be mentioned in the same sentance as far as i am concerned.

No no no no noooooooo.

You reminded me that James Allen is not yet dead - how in God's name can you ally that worthless .... with Murray. Even if you hated Murray (and strangely, some people who claim to love motorsport do) it is positive cruelty to mention JA in the same breath.

Stop the ....!

Great commentary!

You forgot "If McCoy wins they will name the turn after him." As he powered up toward the lead group.

You must have some HORRIBLE bike commentators in America if you think Greenie is any good.

Although I must say I found the AMA broadcast bearable.

We have World Champion "fast" Freddie Spencer, which is good, but we also have Ralph Shaheene which is not so good.
