Hard for someone of my generation, or me anyway, to have a serious opinion on rea as the dexy's song immediately springs to mind. Good song, good album; I liked the first album with "geno" etc even better though; had to buy a second copy as the first melted in the back seat of my car on the way home as vinyl was inclined to do if you were unwary in an australian summer.
I share Kevin's Irish antecedents but am not quite as old as him.

It is heresy, but I probably prefer the first dexy's album as celtic soul to all of van's.

Okay as a complete rookie to the sport (who has probably never seen more than 10 minutes of any one race at a time), I will cast my critical eye over Mr Rea and tell you what I think on Monday after my first full live race experience this weekend
I am aware he is seen as something of a super hero by some here (naming no names) but I'll make up my own mind when I see him in action.
Oh and seeing him on a Red Bull bike made me feel a little at home, I recognised that straight away

no no. bruce wayne is a superhero. rea is god.
no seriously, keep in mind when watching that this will be his first race on a gp bike. without getting into too many details: superbikes and motogp are worlds apart,especially when it comes to the tyres.
hence why i place my bets concerning rea on his second race
not being last of the prototypes should be a realistic goal which would make me as a fan very happy

from what i know the engines are not allocated to a rider but to a bike, so i think yes he will use the awesome drift kings engines
don't think that will matter much , honda seem to be managing very fine so theres room for a crash

Replacement riders use the engines allocated to that bike. Can't remember who it was, but a substitute rider that trashed a bike and the engine, regular rider was not happy to lose an engine in their absence.
In all seriousness, Rea will do better on the Honda, than Elias did with the Duck

its become a bit quiet about redding, i've heard hes very upset that he didn't get the pramac ride.
a hint that gresini isn't really on the cards for him?
if honda are behind rea he could be the perfect man for gresini to improve their standing at honda
