Out of Nowhere
I'm sure you'd all like to join me in welcoming Jonathan Rea to the Moto GP paddock/community. I'm confident that his imminent and inevitable arrival if not substitution for Casey will astound and amaze pundits and plaudits in equal measure with his great finesse and sublime riding. Feel free to celebrate Johnny's consummate skills and talent by posting your goodwill messages, pictures and stories on this unashamed fanboy thread.

Johnny Rea will always hold a special place in my heart for being so instrumental in Spies miraculous comeback in the 2009 WSBK championship. Even though it wasnt his fault, his coming together with Haga allowed Spies to take the points lead that he never relinquished. Love ya Johnny

Overrated. Looked good in those first races of his WSBK career, and while the Honda isn't the best bike, even the best make a decent bike look better than what it is (i.e. Biaggi and the Aprilia, Stoner and the Duc). Rea isn't doing that. Not completely his fault though. The team isn't giving him a consistent teammate to work with year to year either.

I expect good results being that it is Stoner's bike, and really, any of the factory Honda's are just as quick, if not quicker (not a real word, but we get the point), than the Yamaha.

No, no - you misunderstand, you're supposed to express your complete devotion to Rea as a rider and to pledge allegiance to the cause.

Here, I'll show you:

First test, faster than Colin Edwards - a rider in his tenth season in Moto GP...absolute hero

(Where the hell have you been anyway)

I thought my bottom part was good enough. He's not another Spanish rider (not hate of Spain, just a chance at a decent pre-race/post-race interview in English), and he has actually done something in bike racing to get a MotoGP ride, unlike many of the rookies on the grid this year. And being a smaller rider, I think he has the leg up on Spies and Crutchlow (most comparable riders having come from WSBK) in terms of being quicker on the GP bikes.

Plus he's a rookie. So being a fan of his (I'm a pessimistic bike racing fan, so bare with me), it's good to see him get recognized be someone in MotoGP.

Plus, Edwards has always been rubbish. I was sure Rossi would have gifted him a win or two during their time as teammates, but Colin never got in a place to be a winning contender.

Where's the 'over the head' emoticon when you need it.

....Nevermind

I've placed this thread on my ignore list. Hopefully that wont cause my computer to crash.

As he will win every race until stoners return, will stoner even get his bike back? Or Honda gonna make him retire early?

I did think much of him a few years ago, but he hasnt produced the goods in WSBK......so my crush ended for him.....

i wish him the best, and hope he enjoys his token GP rides...

finally a thread with some truths about stonercelli

how many laps/stints did he get on the bike? its the brno test, then aragon and if he proves good enough by breaking lap records he'll get the ride for misano and aragon right?

if all goes well i think he has a good chance of a 4th/5th place finish in the second race

edit : is he on a cbr600 on the pic?

ah ok, must have been some time ago then. that much air on a 600 would have been unbelievable, awesome pic nontheless

I'd have a man crush on him if I didn't see him walking around Miller in 09 with no shirt on. All balls aside he is still pretty rad.
