It won't let me copy, but it's best I don't, copyright and all, but the Doctor is topping the tests with the nearest Honda yet again 2 seconds behind.

Bearing in mind only a few hours have been done, but it's following a pattern.

I'll se how wrong I am come 5pm

Don't Honda do this every year though, seem to be pants in testing and then suddenly the engine and bike is bang on. It's all psychology.

Never in the 4 stroke era though, they've always dominated and then proved it in the season when they got a wee bit better.

2 seconds is an eternity in moto gp though.

MOTOGP News Tuesday, 28th November 2006

Jerez MotoGP test times - Tuesday.

Leading MotoGP times from day one of a three day test at Jerez, Spain, attended by teams and riders from Honda, Yamaha, Ducati, Suzuki and Ilmor.

The Jerez test is the third outing since the end of the 2006 racing season and marks the final opportunity for MotoGP track time before the winter test ban, which lasts from December 1 to January 20, but the opening day was severely interrupted by bad weather and some riders completed only a handful of laps.

World champion Nicky Hayden is missing the test in order to undergo shoulder surgery.

Anyone know whats up with Rossi's new helmet and front fairing?

Both have a sword on them which looks remarkably like Arthurs Sword, any Italian meaning in this?

I think its easy to get too carried away reading testing times, its very early on still and i refuse to believe that honda will be off the pace next march. I really hope that the suzukis can keep on form, but without asking everyone you dont know whos testing what parts or how hard they are pushing. Also, different riders act differently in testing situations and racing is completely different. It also needs to be considered that the tire technology needs to be changed a lot before next year starts. There is a chance that Melandri is a genius and the Bridgestones may be superior next year.

Should I read that without taking into account who your 'Favourite Rider' is?

I'm just dreaming really, i feel like eventually the bridgestones are going to be better than the michalins but i only made that comment because its what i would like to see happening. More realistically i think that pedrosa is going to ride around by himself (at the front) all year with the bike that honda made just for him, without even worrying that he isnt yet experienced enough to make a solid passing move

In my opinion the times are irrelevant due to the bad weather and the small amount of laps put in by every rider ...

the times are very relevant...
especially when you consider one thing...
the Suzuki and Yamaha are near and have even beat some of the 990 lap times!

Just took a look at those pics, that's the first of Rossi's lids that I like. I hope he keeps it through the season. Also saw a picture of old Barros. Reminded me that after a year in the throne, Capriex has been knocked out once again by the original "Ugliest rider in MotoGP"

The Suzuki's times are giving me hope, but they do every year. I think it's entirely possible that the 212V could be a dud. It was a complete bike before any of the Honda riders got so much as a look at it. So much for "Rider Input". HRC has done some brillaint things. They have the recourses, eperience and talent to build the best bikes and dominate, and they do this quite often. Their achillies heel, however, always has been arrogane. It might cost them dearly this year. Then again, I can see a pattern emerging. In 2004, depite Rossi winning the championship, I belive the M1 was inferior to the Honda. In 2005 it was a different story. Rossi dominated on a much better bike, and the Honda's were problematic at the start. In 2006, the situation was reversed. The Yamaha was the dog and Honda was back on top. Is it Yamaha's turn this year? I hope they're both junk so Ducati or Suzuki can win
