Jack Miller Joining Factory Ducati Team

All indications suggest Petrucci will be out, and possibly heading to Aprilia. I was a little surprised that Jack only got a 1 year deal with an option for a 2nd. Perhaps some at Ducati might be anticipating a come back year for Zarco...

Or leaving the ride open for Bagnaia if he looks good next season.

In any case, Jack has the same opportunity Casey Stoner who was only signed for 1 year initially had, and assuming the bike remains competitive should be able to make a splash if he is good enough, he is well experienced now both as a premier class rider and as a Ducati rider.

Didn't need a new thread, but rumoured that pol has reached an agreement to ride with repsol Honda 2021. Seems odd as Alex hasn't had a chance to prove himself yet?

It does seem really odd... I suppose the contracts have to get sorted and it's just unlucky for those who lose out but it is all very odd feeling!

Perhaps an untenable awkwardness has already developed or has been brewing with the brothers within the same team. Perhaps the performance differential between the brothers may well turn out to be detrimental to Alex's future. I feel there's been wisdom in the tradition of introducing new riders to the premiere class without too much pressure. Immediately having a rookie ride with the very best as his team mate should only be an exceptional arrangement and not the norm. I see nothing in Alex that makes such an arrangement good for his career, but in fact, quite the opposite.

I always thought Petrucci had more heart than Dovizioso. Petrucci says he’s considering Aprilia, or might go to WorldSBK to continue with the Ducati team

EDIT: Just saw Petrucci is joining KTM for the 2021 season!

I think Petrucci would have been a better fit at Aprilia on what I expect to be a better bike when racing returns.
