INDY SOCIAL EXPERIMENT 09

I noticed Albertito (that's how Puig asked me to address him--you'd understand if you spoke Spanish) was drinking redbull, so on his recommendation I just had one. It didn't give me wings, but apparently it did give me enough energy to continue my mocking of the man and his diminutive stepchild.

Yeah, I know, I could post all the action and rider pics, but why? My pics are ...... point and crap versions of GatorDuc's anyway. Ah, I met up with my long lost brothers & sisters that surely were separated at birth with me. Ah, kindred spirit.

Hi Jeff, I sure wish you would have spoke up at the paddock as it looks you where spitting distance from us. Anyway, yeah, I better say this about Fagdrosa before Levigarret gets angry with me. To Dani's credit, he was actually walking into his garage, even at the door when I asked him for a pic. He stopped, look back, and I asked him for a pic in Spanish hoping the language thing would help--the trap was set. Anyway, he came back from almost disappearing into his garage and took a pic with me. (I almost felt guilting giving the finger to the camera as a FU to him). So if this makes people's image of him any better, he actually was less standoffish than Kalio as he did make a 180 and take a pic with an almost-fan).


Ah, Kalio, he might as well been invisible. True story, I was standing there with a hard on waiting for Nicky to come out when out pops Kallio. Levigarret tells me dude, you better not say anything negative to him. (Levi has been at this point on a campaign of goodwill toward all the riders, including Peders & Kalio and wanted me to join). So I say ok and tell Kallio as he passed by "Good job Kallio!". Fucken guy didn't as much look over. So not only is the dude invisible but apparently deaf too. Sorry Garret, but he's gonna need to come correct before I start let him give me hand jobs. Hahahaha

Plus I'd rather mock Pig than Peders--who deserves some credit for getting up after what must have been a heartbreaking crash (that is if he had a heart) and still get back up and ride like a machine. BTW, the crash happened right in perfect view of our <strike>suite</strike> sweet seats.

So Boots and I are walking back from the pit toward the rider Q & A when Boots tells me he has to go to the bathroom. (Probably to wack off after seeing all those badass machines in the garages). I tell him I'll meet him at the Q&A since I did NOT want to miss Nicky. So I'm strolling along in a daze when I hear this "beep beep" behind me. (I was walking in the middle of a parking lot and apparently not paying attention there was a truck behind me). So startled by the honk, I wave not looking back and start to moving my ... aside a bit faster. Then as the truck pulls up I look in and jaw proceeds to go directly to floor. Holy .... Mr. Schwantz! He's laughing his ... off. I start to laugh back and I say, "you could have ran me over and I wouldn't have minded as it would have made a fantastic story worthy of making a few friends jealous." Hahaha, we both laugh and I take advantage of the moment to take a pic with him. So I wait for some dude to pass by and ask him to take the shot and of course asked him for his autograph.

As he drives off Boots rejoins me, ....... guy missed the whole thing. I hope the jerk-off was worth it. Hahaha

Anyway, I still haven't given my weekend summary since really I'm still wondering if it was all just a dream. But suffice it to say for now that it was stratospheric! Speaking of which, I must give props to this community of powersliders that are joined together by their passion for this amazing sport.

For those of you who visit the Lounge threads from time to time, you will know that member Povol and I are as opposed in world view as two people can get (he's always wrong and I'm always correct). Ah, but for those wondering, I titled the thread '...Social Experiment' because I was testing my hypothesis of what would happen if I met somebody who I have great opposition too in one aspect but a certain unity in regards to a one Nicky Hayden and MotoGP. Well the results are in.

Let me back up some more, when I PMed Povol my cell and asked him to text me, he said I don't text man, I only call. Hahaha, geez, he's still living in the dark ages. But anyway, ok, if a simple call will get me a meet up then so be it. So I call him and sure enough the voice on the other side was exactly what I expected: an old guy that sounded like a southern hillbilly. Hahaha. 'Crap' I think, do I really want to meet this guy? He tells me he's on the pit walk so I go over. I call him again, and as you can imagine we are trying to find eachother amongst the throngs, so I tell him to meet me by the numbers tower.

Bam, and just like that, two Hayden/MotoGP fans are having a hug.

Turns out Povol wasn't lying when he described himself as a "bear". Jesus this guy is like 6 foot 13 (no ........, I'm standing on my tip toes in above pic). So I'm thinking, I better get this guy liquored up in case he changes his mind and goes for an easy good old Mexican lynching. Hahaha (jk). Actually Povol was good to go. I asked him if he'd join me for a beer and a few shots of tequila, and you know the guy didn't flinch.
