Indy 2012 Race

I call ........ on this response. You have rubbed in to at least me how your opinion is more valuable because you raced and you in this case you were clearly doing it to Povol.

I highly doubt, but Povol can correct me, that Povol gives a .... about what they look like. I strongly suspect his comments were based on their performance, which live, I have no doubt looks and sounds significantly inferior to the prototypes.

Someone here has some comprehension skills. Zoot was being a smartass and you called him on it. Now he is in crayfish mode.

I feel like I should be apologizing....but we had a great time. It seems like everyone hates Indy, but since this is the only race my husband and I can get to (financially, schedule-wise, etc.) I manage to enjoy every aspect of it. I love to sit in the grandstands and refuse to wear earplugs and let my hearing get damaged during all the FP sessions and QP. I love to watch the fans, I love walking all over the grounds watching the action from different angles, I love our seats, I love downtown Indianapolis with all of the bikes....I love it all. Yes, the race was, well, fairly uneventful, but I LOVED every minute of watching all of the riders. We've reordered our tickets for next year and I am already anticipating that we will probably only experience this two more times before it will be out of reach again....(well, maybe not, one never knows what changes may come.) So...did I have a point?...I guess not. But seriously....I had SO MUCH FUN!

Hey Sylvia, Never feel like apologizing for having fun!!!

Been at a track is so awesome for me I don't stop smiling all weekend.

And frequently can be heard saying "This is what life is about" whilst grinning from ear to ear.

Glad you had a blast and long may they continue

That is what MotoGP should be all about, and it gets lost in all the other .........

Glad you and your husband had a great weekend. You are a fan of the sport in the purest form.

Indy was awesome, except for the 30000+ GenCon geeks invading downtown.

I only got a few pictures, actually I am trying to upload my dinner pic with Cal, Lucie and the team but it won't load.

Beth is way too busy to take time to try to fill out her suite. Only about 15 people in it this year.

Indy is always better than Laguna, booked my room at the omni already for 2013.

In which case, it is my mistake. I thought he was talking about how they looked.

Re-reading his post, I accept he was talking about the way the performance 'looked'. I was being too literal.

And I haven't 'rubbed in' that my opinion is worth more than anyone elses - perhaps you have an inferiority complex.

I do have significant amounts of time in racing, both in teams and riding, so I believe I do have an insight into how team dynamics and relationships with teams, factories and between riders works. If you expect that I ignore someone posting complete nonsense just to stop your feelings being hurt, then I'm afraid that's down to you.

I try and keep my posts factual and unbiased, but obviously you are butt-hurt about something and feel that you need to step up to be the forum cop and involve yourself defending Povol (which I seriously think he is capable of doing himself - I've seen his posts).

I accept I am abrasive and don't suffer fools gladly, but I also admit when I am wrong and have no row to hoe against any particular poster - each post on its merits. I won't apologise to anyone for my opinion, especially when tempered and supported from years of experience, just because you might get upset. I am not a social worker.

I was wrong in my interpretation of Povol's post.

Happy now?

I was being a smartass, and I questioned your post.

I accept I misinterpreted your intent and apologise.

For those not familiar with them, a racebike can look as bad as some rat-bike cobbled together in a bloke's shed - which in some cases is exactly what they are.
