Indy 2012 Race

I said :

Why don't you take up crochet then? MotoGP is far too boring...

Stunning effort from Stoner - must be in a world of pain now.

Spies - are you trying to imply that the bad luck must be his fault?

A new low for you, Talpa.

Clearly not a RACE fan.

1) Was that a RACE? seemed more like a TT for me just IMO-but feel free to critique all you want, thats what the internet is for.......just to let you know, others said it was a crap race before me, maybe you should also let tham know about their sporting prefernces as well
<

OK, fair enough. You didn't enjoy it and you say others have said the same, so it must be so. My original question stands - why are you watching and complaining if it's that ..... for you?

2) Not at all, I was implying that something is seriously amiss in Spies's Shed.

Indeed, Spies would have no luck at all without the bad luck it would appear.

3) Maybe you should limit your opinions to the sport and not engage in boner type Augmentum ad hominem

My opinions were about the sport - where was the ad hominem? You bitched, I suggested a new hobby. BTW crochet is not croquet - one is done with needles, the other with mallets.

4) All of the above.

Meaning?

Is Rossi absolutely sure he wants back on a Yamaha? He's finished ahead of the bike he will be pilotiing more than not this year?....just saying.

How many broken bodies after one weekend.

Un-fucken-believable.

Anyone that has ever called any of these riders ......., deserves a good ..... slap !!

(suspect Jum is feeling like he's had a good ..... slap right about now, love your work Jum you fucken ...., fucken ...... fucken .... fucketty .... ....).

Croquet I thought was more fitting.....somehow-I'm sure you know what I mean.

As I said before, I didn't watch, just flicked through in the hope of something happening. I'm a huge fan of mototrcycle racing and am very disheartnened with Motogp at present, nothing wrong with expressing 'it' was a boring race, as it was just an opinion........shared by others beforehand you didn't call out.

The ad hominem was, calling such statements a new low- and rather subltley, which is often worse, the suggestion that I'm not a RACE fan because I found it boring, which is also utterly ridiculous.

A nice counter argument might have been the reasons as to why I'm wrong about the entertainment level and your reasons as to why it wasn't boring and maybe how true RACE fans like yourself see it, as opposed to us mere fair weather fans....?

Well done Dani. Now he just has to keep doing that - gonna be hard though.

Lorenzo, smart ride. Still can't see him losing this year.

Dovi, another great effort. Yep, that factory ride should've been his.

Casey, well done. I'm sure he has given up trying to please people. But, if one can't admire the guy after that, then they'll never be pleased...

Is Rossi absolutely sure he wants back on a Yamaha? He's finished ahead of the bike he will be pilotiing more than not this year?....just saying.

That's not the bike he will be piloting and the current neglect of Ben Spies is not remotely indicative of the level of support he will be getting.

its suggested Lorenzo had trouble passing back markers because there were no blue flags at indy ?

does that mean they weren't shown or literally they weren't any flags at the track

anyone know ?

The commentators said there are no blue flags in the USA as a rule. I didnt know that, but if it is true then its a pretty rubbish rule.....

Not an exciting race really. Dani looks to be on the form of his life, Lorenzo will have to think pretty hard about that threat being real. I'm not convinced Casey can win from his position now especially as he'll surely still be hurting next weekend. His ride was admirable this weekend. I am starting to feel sorry for Ben Spies, I hope he can find himself somewhere he belongs next year. Dovi had another excellent ride too, good job

Dreadful riding by the backmarkers, I know they don't do blue flags in the US but I assume that motogp races are run to their own rules, not local rules. If blue flags weren't shown, thats .... marshalling. If they were then its unacceptable riding. Also heard that Hector Barbera was handled terribly by the medics after his accident, that is even more unacceptable at this level of racing, they should be properley trained. We should not only be outraged by these kinds of things when the accidents are fatal.

+1

Dani is riding superbly and with a sniff because Stoner isn't 100%, he may just keep it up for the rest of the season.

The mistreatment of injured riders is disgusting and completely incompetent. I can't understand why this hasn't been addressed earlier. In footy here in Australia, players are immobilised and a neck brace put on if there is any hint of a neck/back injury. The wellbeing of the player is more important than keeping the game going.

FLAG MARSHALS

The Flag Marshal position has you on a corner/station for the three days of the event. You are responsible for displaying the proper flag for any incident on the track, such as a yellow flag for an Incident on the track, a blue flag to indicate to a rider he/she is about to be overtaken, green flag for the first lap of each practice, sighting lap, race warm-up lap and for clear track after any yellow flag area. You also communicate with Race Control to inform them of what is happening on your section of the track, such as if a rider goes down you report the bike number, where the incident occurred (on track/off track) and describe what is happening.

Race was fairly boring really, was nae bad at the start and the battle between Casey and Dovi was ok...

Pedrosa did was Pedrosa does, got ahead and managed the gap - hope he can win a few more

No other rider is as consistent as Jorge and he'll win the championship through that consistency

Dovi should be on a factory bike and next year he will be, however he should relish these podiums he's getting as next year he can kiss them goodbye!

Casey, you're hard as ...., still a bit of a throbber, but hard as!

Rossi.....

You really have to be in to road racing to be a fan. Like ive said before, its a terrible spectator sport. I took my wife and daughter to their first GP this past weekend at Indy. We went to the AMA flat track race Saturday night and they had a blast. Sunday at the Moto2 race, they said they were going to get something to eat, and i didnt see them again till the race was over and had to text to find out where they were. They were shopping lol. I told them they needed to get back that the GP race was about to start. I left the grandstands and met up with them and we went to the back straight berms to watch the race. They say this is nice, setting in the grass, nice weather, wish we had brought a picnic. I just grit my teeth and smile, thinking this has cost me an extra 300 bucks for them to wish we had a picnic basket. They couldnt have cared less about the racing. After it was over, i asked them what they thought and they said if they came back next year, they wanted to camp and tailgate. They like the atmosphere of the race track, but could give a .... about the racing. My wife told me she would try and find out who was who and what they rode before we went again, and maybe it would be more exciting. She said she connected with the flat track riders because they were right in front of her, we sat on the 2nd row, and she could see them the whole race. Anywho, i get the feeling she isnt into GP, but it was better than being left at home alone. As far as the race, it is what it is. Indy is an awesome facility, just not a great, or even good road circuit. Dani obviously likes Indy, he has won twice and crashed out of the lead in another, Jorge was smart getting what he could and was even gifted 2nd, he had nothing for Spies or Dani. Big props to Stoner, had to be hurting like hell, had he not been hurt, he would have made up big points on Lorenzo this weekend, but thats racing. Depending on what happens in the next few races, Stoner could find himself in a position to help his team and teammate win a title. The question is, will he. Motorcycles on the Meridian is an event you need to witness, thousands of bikes in a bike only section of downtown. Good food, friendly cops, big party. Oh, almost forgot, it appears that Marquez is following the Rossi, Lorenzo, attention whore path. Has his own little traveling road show that skips around the facility acting like clowns wearing Spanish and Marquez flags as cloths. Its so 10 years ago. I bet he pays their way. And last but not least, Rossi. Dude, your the one who needs not to show up if your not going to give a 100%. He is so clearly riding out his contract, its sickening. No effort whatsoever. If i was Ducati, i would bench him and let someone, anyone, who would at least try, ride out the season.

Ducati aren't replacing Nicky for the next round and I think that's to avoid any extra embarrassment of having another rider do poorly on one of their bikes.

You're boycott is certainly hurting Dorna for sure. Not only do you show up, but bring the whole family. hahaha

Nice write up. Sounds like the ...... had fun. Don't be a jerk, bring a picnic basket next year dude. Sounds like they enjoyed the parts I enjoyed at Indy: atmosphere & flat track. The racing is just impossible to watch properly at this track. So I think going shopping was the best thing to do, hell, Nicky wasn't even in the race, so what was the point watching anyway.

Post some pics if you got'em.

As of now, they are still running Moto GP bikes that are capable of setting track records, which Pedrosa smashed this weekend for qualifying and race.. For some reason, its not allowing any pics to be uploaded.

There were blue flags at the track. i was close to a marshal when he was waiving blue flag during the moto3. Not so sure if all the marshals were on-point tho... maybe one of the marshals neglected to put the flag out.

As much as I'd like to think that this is a crap track, it is the closest one to me that I can attend. I can see the track being eliminated off the calendar if TX track is ever built & deal is signed, but I say keep it till then.

This Indy GP was my 1st GP & I'm definitely satisfied w/the experience other than the actual race itself. I completely didn't expect that I'd be able to meet any riders up close. I got an autograph from Colin, shook hands & got a picture taken w/Scott Redding. Super.
