550.

man - i've never ridden one - ive never ridden any kind of supermoto - i've never even sat on one.

but from the minute i saw one in the flesh - that was it.

impulsive - yes
baldy - yes
child - probably

happy - .... YEAH !

That is nice. Too much $$$$ for me to afford, so I opted for the Jap route.

Great bike, no matter the 450 or 550. Undertail exhaust, but did your bike come with those near slick tires?

yeah - same tyres. i'm told they are rubbish ?

i don't even know how to ride a supermoto - i'm ringing Roger !
<

if they are Dunlop 208's, you might save em for a track day. I loved them on the track even thoue they lasted one day. Sucked on the street and more so in the wet

i can't wait to get my hands on it now. just waiting for it to be registered and then i'm off down the country to pick it up.

roger gave me some good advice and i've got a supermoto school day booked for next year so i hope i'll be able to adapt.

have you had one of these then trav ? what did you think ?

looks sweet mate. get some decent lever guards, they will save you a lot of money "when" you drop it. motards crash really well but brake and clutch levers cost a few bob on exotica like that.

my advice.... ride it like you stole it !

Acerbis are good quality, just make sure you get the ones that bolt on in 2 places, ie, around the bar and in the end of the bar. the other type that only clamp around the bar wont offer much protection to your hand or your levers.

+1 dont get the ones i have

Naw Baldy, I havent YET! I ran the 208s on a r6.

As for what Curve has stated about the engine ive heard the same from a guy who races one. He said last summer he rebuilt his twice, and if you ride it "BALLS TO THE WALL" on the street maybe once a year. other wise you who knows, just keep the oil very clean.

I envy you Baldy
<

if you de-restrict the engine - it's basically a top end re-build every 50-60 hours.

i won't be de-restricting the engine

there are some reliability issues sadly but hey - it's Italian. isn't there always ?

the bike currently has Irish plates because it's registered on the isle of mann - once DVLA sort out the paperwork - she's all mine.

PS - RAVEN - i LOVE the fact that your bike is in your house
<

wor lass would lay a ...... egg if i did that.

i think that 60 hour service intervals rather than re-builds. thats new oil plugs and mabe dial the cams in every 4th service i expect. just stay off the motorways, thats what makes motards go bang.

Nice.

All of the SM talk makes me want to go on a Supermoto trackday/school. See if I'm any good at it, and maybe give a whirl racing them.
