Ilmor Out

that sucks big time!
<
we all know they couldn't compeet 'yet' with the other teams, but it's always nice to see more teams/bikes on the grid. I hope they'll be back very quickly!!

this is not good but not at all surprising. they need a sponsor & are doing the only thing possible to stay afloat. hopefully it will work out for them. were's mcdonalds when ya need em?

So that is KR on the Rocks, around 3 weeks ago in FT it was reported that Yamaha where thinking about pulling out before the Fiat deal was finalised and now Ilmor suspening it's racing. Me thinks Dorma isn't in a healthy state - We need Bernie Ecc Back.
Hopefully it will improve the funny thing is that WSB are getting that sponsership deals.

Oh hell no!! this has pissed me right off. I was looking foreward to seeing the ilmor in the flesh and now its ...... off from the entry list. I hope they sort it out and get back in the game soon.

They aren't threatening..... they're genuinely pulling out until sponsorship can be found. The problem is that the only times the bottom ten bikes get coverage is when they crash.

i hope there just pulling a kenny snr stunt to get a sponsor.
i dont agree with tobbacco sponsorship but it sure was easy money, mabe they shouls approach ebay with all there zillions.

Bummer!
Bad news for future of Ilmor as they really need to be at race weekends - they're gonna be getting further and further behind.

Poor pitt!!

Sad news.

Though if you make a bike that sucks so much it's hard to find sponsors. MotoGP is so much more expensive than 500cc

Rubbish isn't it. I am confident that 90% of the worlds problems can be solved by racing 2-stroke motorcycles

Ilmor go bust
One race in and they're out
(15/03/2007)

Team title challengers Ilmor have been forced to hand the power of success back to the Japs and Ducati after announcing that they've run out of 50p's needed to run their MotoGP project.
The team will continue building engines, including the ones for the American 'racing around in a circle Indy League', to try to build up some cash to re-enter MotoGP in 2008.

"As part of the deal McWilliams was given a free bar tab - the cost of which we seriously underestimated" sulked Mauricio Gugelmin our Ilmor insider. "With him being injured for so long he's been on the famous Irish 'black medicine' and sucked dry both our kegs and our bank account".

However Ilmor are particularly bitter with the lack of sponsorship which they blame the Spanish for.
"Those Spanish sacks nick all the money" beefed Mauricio "Them lazy paella gits get all the cash whereas it's completely different for a British team. I think being British we get labelled as 'losers' - but what can we do? Sue James Ellison? We kinda knew we were in trouble when Team KR stated they couldn't find a sponsor - if they can't land one with that mass billboard rider they have how could we?"

One man who'll be dripping iris salt-water into his steamed cabbage is the now redundant manager Harald Eckl. After a punch-up in court the German left his role at Kawasaki to join the Ilmor Super-team but now looks almost certain to return back home to the Black Forest to restart his career in cuckoo clock repairing and cured meat manufacturing.

that will bugger a few fantasy league teams including mine....BOLLOCKS
