here you go. I said it.

And it doesn't have much to do with all the Marquez drama, on which I'm on no one's side if you're wondering.

I LIKE VALENTINO ROSSI. For the last two decades, he has either been the champion or the runner up on most years. He sure is overly aggressive at times. He sure doesn't give an eff about anything or anyone. He is an Italian, and as I'm a Pastafarian I shall feel a hatred against him for that, but I somehow do not (seriously guys, Italy is cool even tho I haven't been there for ages).

Valentino Rossi is a rascal. But I have been watching this sport for my entire life (I'm 327 y/o) and I have never seen a rawest talent, nor a more spectacular rider to watch on the track (sorry Casey). He is the present and future of the sport and sure as heck he'll win more than 10 titles. He set the bar at a level that no one may be able to reach, ever.

As we are just about to witness his annual crazy Texas ride, I thought I'd share my thoughts about him.

My point is: if you hate this champion, you are not a real fan of this sport.

To anyone that'd like to roast me: keep in mind that I REALLY hope Zarco gets the title this year. And maybe next year too.

You forgot to mention all the whining and off track manipulation, the main reason for the disparity in opinion between you and those whom you dispute on here.

He had a reasonable knack for stalking opponents and setting them up for passes in his heyday, but his intrinsic riding style is rather ersatz.

I see you have taken my advice and are attempting to correct your irony deficiency, btw. Baby steps.

Why all this speak about hate. Hate is a strong feeling, if you hate then you actually care about person in question.
I personally do not care about jerks, why waste my emotional power hating morons? Rossi is one of them. Was a great guy, but turned moron. So hell with him. I care about motorsport, one day he will be gone and this will be good news for the sport. He will be remembered as a brat and self-proclaimed god.

Not entirely self proclaimed as glory hunting minions such as Synn evidence.

Yeah, and following a fake god is called cult. Members of this cult are making noise here on these forums. Let them be. May reaction to them is - yawn.
I will go and put my bike into touring trim now. Install trunk, highway pegs, some other accessories. Damn, where did I put my rainsuit ... it is supposed to rain in Austin area.

Dear all,

the real question is: if Rossi would have never started his media-war against Marquez, would all the people that now hate Marquez have hated Marquez?

SPOILER: NO!

You're 327 years old. So then, not immaturity, but rather senility would seem to be your problem.

Seriously - your superficial exposure to the sport gives you a distorted perspective leading you to the laughable conclusion that Rossi is the sport.

There are lots of members here who've been following MotoGp since 1979 and earlier.

And that's exactly what happened. Cast your minds back to 2015: Rossi had 2 clashed with Marquez, but as he had come out "on top" his minions were happy. However, immediately after PI 2015 they were preparing to hang Andrea Iannone from the nearest lamp post for having the audacity to, wait for it, race Rossi and pass him 2 corners from the end.

But then. Rossi said "No my minions, wait. Don't direct your anger to Iannone, because he's my buddy. Attack Marquez..HE'S the real villain!"

Sounds an awful lot like personal experience. Why would you want to share your Friday night leisure activities in the public?

1975 for me and Sheene, Agostini, Kanaya, Williams and Read.
Somewhere in my loft I have a signed photo of Phil Read.

No, Marquez until Sepang 2015 was being marketed as Rossi MkII, we heard all the stories about Rossi posters in Marcs bedroom and all that.
