Spies | F | His career suffered a serious blow in 2012, and he needed to stay near the sharp end to have any chance at extending his career. He signed a 2-year deal to ride a satellite Ducati, and now he's slowly recovering from a badly injured shoulder.

How could you give spies an F? A+! Great decision to just not ride the Ducati and waste his time. Id rather be at home eating pastries just like him.

Marquez - b+ - The guy has seriously just annihilated the entire field this year. I expected him to hop on the Honda and beat Rossi - not everybody. I am only a little disappointed that he had still only won one race before Pedro and Lorenzo injured themselves.

Pedrosa - B - I would have given him a C before but to find out he has a complete fracture makes his result in Laguna Seca astounding - quite honestly Lorenzo doesnt seem that much worse off as everybody is claiming.

Lorenzo - B - Consistent all year it seems like and destroying his GOAT teammate. Try to stop getting injured though.

Rossi - C - You won in Assen. That was it. I don't hate Rossi but he is boring and he needs to go back home to spend time with his ugly truck driver BFF.

Bradl - C+ - Slow start, killing it now compared to others it seems like.

Crutchlow - C+- Was doing well and now he is slacking off. I hope he kicks Rossi off his factory ride in 2015.

Bradders - C - Honestly compared to Crutchlow in his early years he is doing well.

Dovi and Hayden - D - Get off the duc please.

Spies - A+ - When Spies comes back and starts beating the factory ducs, youll regret everything you said about him. Spies is an alien unlike dovi and Hayden

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can see past the horrible 2012 season Spies had and take note of his speed. Spies is going to decimate the factory Ducati squad in the latter half of this season. That or he will throw in the towel.

Don't hold your breath.

Yeh spies is a great rider, but he is no alien.  He had the potential to be one, but fell short (so far)

Pie Man strikes me as being completely (permanently?) checked out.  Returning several races ago, only to 'discover' that his shoulder was still borked is terribly unprofessional.  Is there some reason he couldn't have borrowed a fast bike and done at least a few dozen fast laps BEFORE wasting everyone's time?

It will take several strong races to convince me that he's serious about riding competitively.

(I'll hope for the best, but will believe it only when I see it.)

want to bet?

Bet what? That Rossi is off the pace because he is too big? Didn't seem to matter the first seven world titles, don't really see what has changed. The bike has 260Hp for ..... sake.

ET was also an alien and he couldn't ride a bike. He got carried around in the basket on the front

Did you follow GP before the single tire mfg rule?     I don't have time to number crunch, though I believe you'll find the average rider height shrank considerably once it was instated.    They (all mfg's) have to make a cost effective product that average rider can benefit from.    this goes for electronics and their programing as well.

You need to look at all the taller riders.....Edwards, Rossi, Spies, and now Bradley Smith.   They all have a height, and weight disadvantage and are a minority.

As for a bet?   I've got some idea$...

1. Why not? Seems like a pretty straighforward task, and in my opinion, would give some much needed weight to your argument.

2. Even if that is the case (and I doubt it), correlation still does not imply causation. In fact, I'd consider it highly doubtful in this case.

Hey lex, I am surprised that you would give both Lorenzo and Rossi a B-.

Even though Lorenzo did whine a little, certainly he must outscore

Rossi in your evaluation? Yes? No?

Rossi won a title since the single tire  rule. What has got the best of Rossi is age, more equal equippment and much better competition. Kind of a stretch to say the spec tire favors short riders.

Ah yes, when the "spec" went his way.  The "spec" that went decidedly away from Stoner (who later requested last year's "spec").  Pedro was handicapped on his own pedrocycle creation  and Lorenzo was still working for NASA.

Pov, something you don't seem to understand.  When you have a series where in reality there are only 4 bikes eventually gonna win the title, if you handicap a couple, its only simple math that the odds are going to be heavily in your favor.  Eliminate 5 through whatever number of bikes have been put on the grid for your entertainment...they don't mean jack .....

Age my ..., what has got him is having to compete with equipment not decidedly in his favor while detrimental to others (albeit only 3 others...who you call the "top riders in the world" who also happen to have competetive equipment: coincidence I guess in your world).  Agree, spec tires favoring midgets is a stretch...actually, that is funny.
