Honda LCR vs Konica Minolta Honda

Am I right saying that the LCR is a factory bike and Tamada's bike is a factory bike? Or are they both customer bikes?........I'm lost!

I thought it would make an interesting dabate on the differences between the two bikes and perforances, afterall they are both on french rubber.

Heres this years stats:

Valencia:

Stoner 2nd 46.19
Tamada 10th 46.33

14 seconds differance

Qatar:

Stoner 5th 43.29
Tamada 14th 44.33

64 seconds differance

Turkey:

Stoner 2nd 41.54
Tamada 10th 42.24

30 seconds differance

I know the bikes have different pilots (obviously!), but if these teams get the same bike, surley Tamada should be up there more?

1st need to know if they have the same bike?

Yep they are on the same bike, I read an article on Honda's bike and Casey, Toni and Makoto are riding standard customer RCVs.

Melandri and Pedrosa have the standard RCV some special HRC parts, and Nicky is riding the evolution of the Brno Prototype which is different to all the other Hondas.

Its a real pity not to see Tamada up near the front at all, whats that all about? tyres? confidence?

It definately aint the bike. It cant be.

Well I'm sure Makoto is thinking about that also, he's got the same bike and tires as the rest of Honda riders, but he is the slowest.

There are other isssues, maybe his team is not good enough with the bike's settings, but I think he should go back to Bridgestone, he's lost his confidence, maybe he IS the slowest of the Honda guys, but the difference is too big, can't be just that the others are that much better, this guy won 2 GPs just a couple of years ago.

A case of Setenitis.

This guy is super super quick on his day and its a real shame he has lost confidence(im sure its in his head and not the bike)

Seems like they dropped Bridgestones at the wrong time doesnt it?....

They are both Customer bikes.

The works boys are the Repsol Honda Team plus Melandri (HRC Test rider)

The difference is Tamada. From what I've heard he's lost quite a bit mentally since he got busted up last year with all the injuries. I'm sure that lack of confidence comes from being uncomfortable with Michelins but who knows for sure. Would he flourish again on 'Stones? Hard to say, when a rider's head isn't right it's tough for them to be competitive. Look at Ben Bostrom back on Dunlops, he still doesn't finish top five.

Casey Stoner is one of the least supported Honda riders in the MotoGP paddock - riding a customer spec RC211V for the new LCR outfit - but the Australian sensation insists that he's treated equally by HRC.

I've heard the eurosport commentators talking about tamada last race. It seems to be the problems with his tyres and confidence, like ooost and teo said. in the pre-season a lot of people around him (like the 2 dutchmen patrick and jurgen vd goorbergh) have given tamada advice not to choose michelin, but tamada was 'a bit headstrong' with his choice

but the last year he drove a honda minolta on bridgestone, he wasn't a top 10 rider too, so it must be something bigger then only his tyres

Yep, Tamada got hit in the face by the tyre change and he can`t recover. Shame, really. He could have been the next big threat. But how long could a Bridgestone RCV be competitive when Honda work with Michelin and Bridgestone work with Ducati. Oh well, Throw him on a SBK and watch him get his confidence back so he can retire on a good note... such a shame really.

And as for Nicky on that Brno thing, theres your answer to his dropping off at the end of Istanbul, Ooost. They`re making the poor dude run the frakenstien evil test bike

I think the evo bike Nicky is riding is really starting to pay off. At this point I would say that it is faster than the upgraded 2005 spec bikes everyone else is on. It won't be long until Dani and Marco get an evo.

Ooost only Dani Pedrosa is on the upgraded 05 spec apart from Hayden who is on the 06 full factory everyone else is on customer bikes

A real shame when hes won 2 GP's. one of which he beat Rossi fair and square. On his day he is super quick.

But like Richo said, chuck hi into WSB and watch him go!!!

Remember Sugo 2001 and 2002? 3 out of 4 on the Cabin SP2.

That`s cuz Bayliss never should have left SBK in the first place. If he had stayed, The Hodge, JT and even corser probably wouldn`t have their trophies now.
I`d say Tamada would be more like Barros. I`ll be surprised if he dosen`t take a few wins before the day he retires (if he ever does)
