In the tyre thread Shaunna.

Jack used the age old 'opinions are like ........' comment to which Lorenzo has seemingly taken offence and mentioned that as a multiple times champion, perhaps Jack should listen (paraphrasing).

It is then said that when asked about Jack's crash, Jl made mention of perhaps it being a lesson from god as to the fact that Jack is not immortal (amongst other digs at Miller)

Nah all good.

It is in there as the handbag fight happened (allegedly) at the riders meeting to vote on which tyre to use to blame for performance (or lack thereof)

Well Marquez was fastest in morning warm-ups. Track temperature is far higher than it was during qualifying.

Let's see who gets questionable construct tires for the race.

Well, nobody can say that Rossi didn't ride brilliantly, even if he did lose it on the last lap. The new surface is grippy, but has some stretches that are a bit unpredictable.

You and I were both wrong about Vinales though. Can't do much better than a lap record to take the lead on the last lap in this company with the winners of 10 premier class championships crashing because they can't hack your pace.

Sad to see Rossi crash actually, apart from it giving the lie to the usual Nick Harris platitudes which were coming out multitudinously.

Maybe Dani really does have a chance, I think MM is well behind the eight ball now.

I can't believe Rossi made two huge mistakes on that last lap.

He had managed the race perfectly with the tire life and timed the attack on Vinales for the lead perfectly. Then to make an uncharacteristic late braking error to run wide, and then to go down while trying to get up near Vinales, I don't think I've ever seen that from him. Race was pretty much in hand for him. That was a brutal gut punch.

Vinales rode well, but it wasn't a dominant performance. Inherited wins while not pretty, are still wins...and to have a chance to win, you need to be there. I don't know if he pressured Rossi into those mistakes so much as Rossi pressured himself. But good for him to keep the pressure on because any little contribution from that turned the race in his favor. His first real test and he passed it with flying colors.

Johann Zarco made a gamble with his tire selection. In hindsight I wonder if the medium/medium would have actually been better for him especially because he could not even mount an attack.

Dani Pedrosa with a shock podium, and a hell of a race. Maybe this is how Dani wins the title? Death by a thousand cuts, and then at the end of it, he ekes out the title by a slim margin? Good to see him recover from that awful Q1 session yesterday.

Marc's crash was costly, and I don't see him successfully defending the title now. He's going to need to focus on beating Pedrosa if possible now.

Yes, I agree.

Vinales has proven himself under pressure which is what you like to see. Though I have to wonder if Rossi may manufacture some drama with him over the crash. But either way, I don't mind being proven wrong. Interesting how the race seemed to be mostly settled with 10 laps to go, and fortunes rose and sank in the span of 3 laps.

Great racing at the front , shame it ended with VR on the deck but he was pushing for the win and showed great form ahead of Mugello . Dani now p2 in the championship and #1 hrc rider.

We would perhaps see an outbreak of peace and harmony on the forum, I doubt anyone, even Jumkie, would begrudge Dani a title now.

Can't fault Vale for lack of spirit and race craft. Amazing to see someone his age make such a convincing return to form; not just a one-off at a favorite track. he's been really strong all season. Watching him in the late stages of the race, I confess I was thinking, if this old ............ continues to ride like this (and keep it clean) for the rest of the season, I would celebrate his 10th.

Watching Dani strong-arm his way to the front really brought my spirit up. Good on 'em. I was thinking the same... he could end up doing a Nicky 2006 this year. Wouldn't that be amazing?

Re: Zarco - I was just praying he would stay on the bike and be in the top 4. Maybe a 2nd will afford him a more "tempered" sense of self-confidence, as opposed to potential overconfidence.

Thought I heard the announcer say they're going to be at Donnington for the British round. Is he high? I was ready to go on Expedia and buy tickets. Anyone here going to Assen? Really want to hit one European round this year.

Definitely not a boring season!

Did you see the HD replay of the black line left down by Rossi when he passed Viñales? - stunning. I'm certain Rossi would have taken the win from a last lap lunge into Raccordament given how he was able to work that front end today. Irrelevant though. Made the mistake at the double r/h apex Garage Vert allowing Maverick back in then pushed too hard trying to reclaim the place. Miniscule mistake - tapped the throttle early to set up the final turn. Laptimes so close - both running low 32s - incredible. Fastest lap - final lap of the race.

What pissed me off was once again the huge roars of the Rossi stand boosted high in the mix and the coverage took on the atmosphere of a morgue when Vale crashed out. When the cameras eventually caught up with second place Zarco - which the producer appeared to have completely overlooked - it's as though they were prompted /remembered to reintroduce the cheers to the sound track. Would have loved to have seen Johann win today recalling the scenes here in 2011. He managed that S-S combination brilliantly. Beautiful rhythm.

Marc never looked settled on that medium front which he opted for following his crash in morning warm up. Judging by Crutchlow the hard wasn't fairing any better, but I think Márquez may have felt more confident had he not made the change. Stop - start front end heavy braking circuit, Márquez territory claimed by Yamaha through a very judicious choice of test. Identical to Miller.

Can't help feeling that Dani is placed by default but I suspect he may have passed his team mate today.

Mugello is going to be spectacular. Impossible call.

....... for Redding who very likely would have had a good showing today. Gearbox. Lowes scored first points though. Felt for Aleix too.

Bautista dumps in on the first lap again.
