Welcome to the site, you ever make it to Pikes Peak for the SBK event when it came around?

I've only lived in Colorado since 2004, but I did make it to Pikes Peak last year to see the AMA races. I was saden to later learn that their wouldn't be motorcycle races there anymore. It was a great track for the spectator for you could see most of the track form the northern area of the grandstands, and I was hoping to do some track days.

It had some very interesting aspects from what I've seen on TV and reading what riders had to say.

Ya! Eric Bostrom always did well & I think he really like the place. At 5300 ft' (something like 1600 meters) bikes make a lot less power. What I liked was during the superbike race you could see where it was better or worse to be on a twin or a four cylinder.

Yeah, I'm sure the altitude probably leveled the playing field when he was on the underpowered Kawasaki and slow in comparison Ducati. The long, bumpy, dirt track style left suited him very well also.

You are too late. No bikes are allowed to race. You can thank Nascar, winston cup, or something to do with stock car racing. I wouldn't watch a one of these races if the current motogp grid came to race these so called "Stock Cars".

I have ridden over mountain passes as high as 10,000 feet. Way down on power, but the roads are mostly in great shape in the summer to mid-fall. The traffic is bad most of the time. We have this way of riding called "Road Surfing". I like to get in front of a MotorHome(caravan), and let the people in front of you get a good distance ahead, a just carve the corners till you reach traffic. On the straits we will get crawl to a pace of a walk till traffic catches up.
