Josh Hayes isn't Troy Bayliss. Josh Hayes wasn't offered a factory WSBK ride. Josh Hayes wasn't offered a factory WSS ride. At whatever age Hayes is (early 30s I believe), to go to WSS on a satellite ride for a fraction of the pay he could be earning in the AMA on a factory Superbike ride doesn't make much sense. Additionally, an AMA Superbike title in the states is valued higher than a WSS title. Not saying I agree or disagree with that sentiment, just that I think you'd be hard pressed to find an American rider who would rather go to WSS than AMA Superbike.

if hayes wanted to race against world class talent, he would make the sacrifice.
Dude,that is wrong in so many ways.You think WSS has world class talent and he should blow off an AMA Factory Superbike ride.Lets see,Factory Superbike ride,what he has always wanted=Check
Riding against World class talent Matt Mladin,Neil Hodgson,Jamie Hacking =Check
Gets to stay home and everything that goes with that=Triple Check
Make 3 times the money =Check.

I think someone has an over inflated idea of how significant WSS is in the racing world.What,pray tell did he have to gain by going to WSS on a sattelite team.Even if had been Ten Kate's #1 bike it wouldnt have made sense.

Thanks. Exactly. In general - a lot of folks don't make the unquestioned assumption that just because something is happening in Europe - that it's automatically more desirable.
