Also, if Rossi left MotoGP, He wouldn't have that problem of "The first one you gotta beat is your teammate", which I think might be holding Edwards back a little bit.
Would they keep Edwards if this happened? They'd have an all American team with the Texas Tornado and the Kentucky Kid. But Edwards and Hayden are both Superbike Champions who are starting to become GP veterans. Is that a good direction for the team? Ideally, shouldn't a team have an experienced rider coupled with some promising young talent? Preferably at least one with a GP (125/250/500) background. And one that's more sponsorship freindly. Mind you with the growing popularity of GP racing in the States, I think Hayden will become hot property for sponsors soon. He'd have to be somthing special to be as sought after as Pedrosa, though.
