Hayden resigns with Ducati!

Nicky Hayden is the worse rider ever to have stayed in the premier league "MotoGP" as long as he has for his useless talent........ Colin Edwards is a close second.

I'm sorry but tis thee truth.

Ahhhhh no that (dis)honor goes to Randy Depuniet. 1.5 crashes on an average per race weekend Randy.

This seems particularly likely if Uncle Ezzy can fix the Golden Brat's colossal ....-up and get him back on the Yamaha.

Without Flossi around, the harsh spotlight - and pressure to improve - will no longer be trained on Prezzy and company. Even with possible Audi funding (not that I'm betting on any!), Ducati will look at all the $ squandered over the last 2 years and will REDUCE their already glacial pace of development. 2013 may well be the worst year yet for the team.

I'm sorry Geo, I can't share your optimism. Once the final domino falls after Summer break we can draw more conclusions.

Feel sorry for Hayden. So desperate to stay in GP when he Spies and 1 or 2 others could go to WSBK and change the balance of power at the top of world motorcycle racing. If they both went I think it would be enough to kill MotoGP in the US for at least a decade. Add a couple of Aussies to WSBK and it would really make it interesting. I recon Stoner would happily do a year in WSBK before retirement just to twist the knife in Ezpeleta's back a bit more.

I wish WSBK streamed the races and practice live like MotoGP does.

Hate to say it but I think it's a little pathetic that Nicky is sticking around with Ducati and married to a bike on which he cannot win. Really sad. He could do great stuff in WSBK but clearly thinks it's lessening of status. I can't see Stoner ever doing WSBK. If he did - it would be HUGE! I hope that Ben does go there. If he does, he has his priorities right. Nicky has enough dough, he doesn't need to be in MGP for the paycheck, and the girls are just as juicy in WSBK. Why not race where you can be on competitive machine and some dignity.

This and move the eurosport commentary team over there .

It would be a good question for Krop to ask him. Why are you sticking around? I'm not a reporter so not really sure how not to get punched asking that but they can find a way. .Believe it or not I think that he is still a believer that he can win. Problem is almost everyone believes he can't win. I'm still a fan. Only thing that pisses me off is I still have to watch GP where if he went to SBK I could get my fix all in one place.

Very well put.

Have to agree with Jums and L8brake etc, it will be another long year for Nick if Audi doesn't turn the POS on its head

It will be a breeze if Rossi goes. They can get back on track.

During the Rossi years at Ducati, they have had their worst ever years.

Ducati, at the very least, needs Nicky at the moments ..... because next year its going to have to be a new headline/thread topic:

"Hayden Redesigns with Ducati"

Though the records perhaps show that the best possible development rider that Ducati have ever had was Capirosi.

He was asked this question by the guys from SpeedTV, Nicky said GP is elite, where the best of the best ride.

Too bad not all elite riders get elite bikes. Personally I'd prefer Troy Bayliss's exit from racing over the one that Nicky's gonna have.

I was a big fan of Capirossi but even at his advanced age he was having more exciting rides on the Suzuki.

Really? Which records are they?

6 podiums in the first year the bike competed, downhill from there. That's some development skill he has.

In 5 seasons at Ducati, he managed a total haul of half what his new 2007 team-mate got in his first year.

He did manage 3rd place in 2006, but how much that had to do with his development skills as opposed to the new Bridgestones, I have my doubts.

I would say Stoner was their best development rider, but they ignored his feedback. They hired the GOAT and his magical engineering sidekick to fix things and that has been a bust as well - so either Rossi can't develop worth a damn, or the things he has been saying (same as Stoner was saying) are right and the Corse just don't value rider feedback as much as say, Yamaha.

Twas somewhat tongue in cheek, however by most folks formulae ....... Capi is the best DEVELOPMENT rider Duc. have ever had.
