Hayden resigns with Ducati!

Nicky Hayden is the worse rider ever to have stayed in the premier league "MotoGP" as long as he has for his useless talent........ Colin Edwards is a close second.

I'm sorry but tis thee truth.

Cal has been offered a contract @ factory Ducati & Hayden has been re-signed. I think it's fair to say Vale wont be there next year regardless of his "It's too early to make a decision" statement.

I'm glad Nicky is staying @ Ducati. I think they will do well developing around him. If they could get the tyres to last race distance they would already be a hell of a lot closer than they are.

The new Bridgestones are doing them no favours.

IIRC, news out last week was that Audi had put a stop to discussions with Cal, and they confirmed their intention was to keep both Rossi and Hayden.

I am still betting Rossi will stay at Duc also.

Its about selling bikes for Ducati (Audi) and Rossi and Hayden are the best options for Ducati to achieve sales. Both are hugely popular. Ducatis biggest market is the US, so makes sense to have the most popular US rider on their bike. As long as Ducatis are still seen as exotic, and different to other sports bikes, the lack of results in GP probably isn't hurting their sale too much.

If I had the money the Panagale would still be top of my shopping list, regardless of how Rossi or Hayden are doing.

Dam it i thought you meant he quit not signed on for anther year you .......

+1 .... A Duc... i hope they all leave to WSBK.... bring Nick Harris and Gavin Emmett with them.

Leave all the ....... midgets behind.

Rossi and Nick arent the issue... its Professor X not implementing whats being asked for.. I wish someone would roll his ... off a "Tuscany" hill. .... him.

i laughed my arse of at that man, but felt so ....... bad for doing so

Really? I thought Crutchlow to Ducati was a done deal?

So where will Cal end up? Another year with Tech3?

RE-Signs must be good money to be a punch bag not long before he takes Colins seat at the back of the CRP

Dumb move

Ducati makes a bit over 40,000 bikes a year.

lets say they get AU$50,000 each for them .......... total sales ......... AU$2M

lets say they Rossi and Hayden cause the sales to skyrocket by 10% ( which is exaggerating )

Rossi and Hayden have produced AU$200,000 extra bikes sales ............

I don't think Audi has that as a reason to keep them at all.

Jesus Barry, I guess math wasn't your strong point?

40,000 bikes @ $50,000 each is $2 Billion not 2 million.

Just a little bit of difference don't ya think?

What about the $50,000!!?? nobody has picked up on that!!

not even sure 40,000 is right though this is probably the closest figure ....... which in its own does make me wonder why Audi would expect much from the Ducati acquisition.

I did think about the 50k for a while but had no idea about the number of premium bike sales they do. Would have thought around 38k - 40k at the most.

I think with any of the Ducati figures we hear there is some "creativity" with the numbers

( I could get a job there!!

) but I think even a conservative estimate ( published during the Audi talks ) puts the figure over 40,000 bikes.

But anyway with Ducati ......... bike sales increase is not quite the effect it is for the likes of Honda and Yamaha.

Somebody once said on here ( I believe ?? ) that lack in sales of bikes, they make up for in T-shirt sales

Good choice by Ducati to retain Hayden.

Now I hope they also hire back Casey's team (Leoni-Gabarrini & C.) that probably Honda cannot keep because Marquez wants to bring in his own team.

That team has already won 2 titles with Casey and they are among the very best in the paddock.

If Ducati/Audi are smart, they will ask them to come back in some capicity.

He did too. He was supposed to have been handed a contract at Mugello but it never happened. Rumor was, the Audi guys took over GP contract negotiations, and they preferred Hayden over Crutchlow.
