Guys like Hacking never made what you would consider big bucks in racing. They live comfortable but dont have the type of money to make a go on their own.Just not worth the risk of blowing your retirement on a series like DMG where you cant make any money, even if you dominate. At his age he should probably look into opening a motorcycle related business and try to live off his name. Riding school, performance shop etc:

And yes,it is a damn shame that DMG has ...... up so many careers.

There are allot of guys without a ride ATM. Reading what RL Hayden had to say about lagging Moto2 offers, it looks like many AMA guys are damned. Even without Edmudson, it still looks like AMA will be ...... because it will be hard to clean up the mess. Without the factories, plenty of good riders are looking for seats, and the Euros are not willing to offer much if anything. I think Hacker will find something somewhere though. He's still good enough. Maybe Spies can throw around some clout and get his buddy signed somewhere.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Below: a list of previously factory-backed riders who are known not to have contracts, as yet, for the 2010 season.

Ben Bostrom (Rumored to be racing for a Yamaha support team)
Jamie Hacking
Jason DiSalvo
Steve Rapp

Eric Bostrom (did not race in 2009)
Jake Holden
Chris Peris
Chaz Davies

Jake Zemke (Has been rumored to be signing with Team Jordan for almost two months)
Geoff May
Miguel DuHamel (Only raced Daytona 200 in 2009)
Aaron Yates (Has verbal agreement with Team Jordan)

Riders known to be leaving the series:
Neil Hodgson, will race support Yamaha Superbike in BSB
Roger Lee Hayden, Pedercini Kawasaki WSBK LINK

EDIT: Update LINK (good for him)
