I used to ride a dirtbike when I was a teen. Lots of crashing, lots of learning. Lots of fun. Nordic conditions, riding in snow, on ice. Mud and gravel in short summer. Then several decades no bike. It simply was too cold in my home country to make it feasible to spend good money on a motorcycle. :cold:
Getting older I disliked the cold even more, so I moved. First thing was to visit an H-D dealership. That's what old farts ride, right? I tried all the machinery they had and did not like any of them. Too heavy for fun. Almost out of the door I thought I'll give Sportster a try. I rode home on a brand new Roadster XL1200R. The engine was weak. After some mods I can hit 125 MPH pretty fast, and that's enough for an old chap, methinks.
Watching MotoGP since 1991 or so, can't recall exactly, it was analogue satellite, Eurosport was FTA . All two-strokes back then. No traction control. It was almost impossible to pull a break in 125 cc, engines didn't have the power.
