No way. I was on that train alone long before you stumbled on. I would assume you may have been there sooner had traffic not been awful.

Squabbling over who is Dovi's biggest fan, is a bit like being the groupie who wants to bang the bass player from Van Halen circa 1980

Well that was Qatar. An outlier. But a fun way to get things rolling.

Anyone who believes they can draw meaningful conclusions from this entertaining opener (or the next 2...) is delusional.

That said my picks for best rides of the day were Dovi, Vale, and Vinales, in that order.

Roll on Argentina.

"Women and Children First". Great record.

Saw Alice Cooper supported by Ace Frehley in Sydney late last year.

Flawless show from a 69 year old Alice mostly playing the classic Alice Cooper Band stuff.

Ace played “Back in the New York Groove” of course which I have always loved.

Also, Syahrin was fantastic for his debut, as was Morbidelli.

I expected more from Aleix, who was so strong here last year.

Iannone should jump back on the Ducati. His style suited that bike more.

Not that he has any say in the matter. I'm sure he'd love to be on the current iteration.

Great song nicked from Hello.
I much prefer the maracas and the harmonica on the original.

Being a Cal Crutchlow fan is like giving a hand job to The Dave Mathews band roadie and saying you ...... the band.

I am doubtful that Dovi could get a free ....... at Mugello whilst Cal must practically erect scarecrows to shoo all the birds away at Silverstone.

Considering that this forum has seen about 87 years worth of Rossi fans vs Stoner fans,
Dovi fans vs Crutchlow fans is a welcome change.

Don't pull y'er punches boys.

considering that about 99% of Dovi fans love Cal, including myself :D

Obviously a tawdry excuse, a defective Michelin front tyre being absolutely unprecedented.

A contention which might not help Zarco’s chances of getting a good Michelin tyre next time.

Saw in one article that Zarco said the Michelin tech told him there was something wrong with the tire.

I liked Simon Crafar when he raced but holy hell, listening to him is BRUTAL. Half the time he seems lost, speaks at 50% speed and can’t remember anyone’s name to save his life.

Dylan Grey is dearly missed.

I'll concede that I know nothing of Simon Crafar but jesus, his interview technique and voice is appalling. Is he all there, suffered a horrific injury or trying to sound like a simple minded Dutchman?

Good race and it's nice to see that MM and Dovi have picked up from where they were last year with their final lap games. There might be some interesting duels in later races where they start to second guess each other in that Dovi will expect MM to make a play and MM might trade on that.

Either way, neither of the main contenders fell off which is a good thing. Props to Rossi for sticking with the lead pack. Great start by Zarco and fingers crossed that he can work on his longevity. Crutchlow - well he didn't fall over I guess.

Lorenzo - pretty demoralising if I'm honest. I'm a big fan of his and will always respect his sticking it to Rossi when virtually the whole paddock and media were against him (even though many journos would claim that they weren't) but I'm not sure if he has it in him to get the machine to sing his tune. I'm not taking anything from Dovi as he's put in the long years on the Ducati, has grown into someone with a less respectful 'edge' on the track (as in being prepared to fight with people) and matured into a very real challenger and deserves his success.

It's just a shame to think that unless we scroll forward a couple more years or Jorge swaps out bikes, we're unlikely to see him regularly battling it out at the front of the grid again.
