That's a really good question, one I can't answer even though I go!!! I get the feeling the paying public are divided, but it still results in a great weekend.

i agree. we need the 125s & 250s here......... miller!

Laguna needs the TRUE support classes, the 125s and the 250s.. Otherwise, its just not a legitimate event IMO..

AMA, who gives a sht about AMA!? It's just like Americans calling their baseball finals the 'world series'
<
If it cant happen, then ditch American rounds alltogether... The 125s and 250s make it to Australia, surely they can make it to the US aswell...

Thing about the world series is that domestic US teams could probably beat most national teams from around the world... except Japan

And the 125/250 teams do PI as part of a three-round Asia tour invloving Motegi and Sepang as well, before heading back to Europe. Having those three rounds together reduces travel and logistic costs. California is probably as far away from Estoril as it is from Motegi, there's no rounds nearby. Privateer 125 and 250 teams would struggle to fit it into the budget, I think.

Absolutely, the whole event is superb on and off the circuit.

Oh don't worry, Moto GP is definitely the main event. An AMA race was postponed until after the GP because of the problems with the track surface. The organizers wanted to get the GP in before the track got too bad.

Also, the US GP was aired live on SPEED, but it was broadcast on national television a week later. AMA hasn't been on national TV in recent years (has it ever?).
