Rossi was beating these guys far more comfortably 02-05 than he has 06-09, even if he is still the best.

Would be pretty .... if we could only be fans of our countrymen, especially if your engligh and support motogp . The americans would be ok as they have several countrymen to get patriotic about.

rossi may not be english but he is european. There are a lot of countrys that are not represented in motogp so sometimes continents will have to do But regardless of all that, my comment was because history had been made and i saw there were none of our very patriotic aussie friends commenting or congratulating in the thread. im surprised as most of you claim to be "race fans" over stoner fans.

I take your point and would have in advance of your post, but cannot let such slurs on my country and perhaps my hemisphere pass uncontested .

As I have said many times I have no problem with anyone being a rossi fan, particularly those like you who have the perspective to appreciate his pre-eminent place in bike racing history and who have followed him from the start. However as someone said elsewhere it is not exactly a tough call to choose to be a rossi fan now, requiring little perspicacity or risk of disappointment, a bit like coming to a decision in the last couple of years that manchester united is your team in english football. I will stick with supporting stoner whatever his foibles as you have stuck with southampton .

I don't see why people have a problem with 'glory supporting' as its called. So what if someone starts watching the sport last year and decides to be a Rossi fan. Different people like different things from their sporting heros. Some people like underdogs, some people like winner, some people like serious sportsmen, some people like clowns and attention seakers. Some people just support by nationality. It's fine either way. I think the difference between fans is made how objective people are about matters concerning their chosen rider.

I think it was more a <strike>shamefull</strike> painfull truth rather than a slur mike. In many race threads where stoner has not won or done well you tend to notice its the same fans that are absent from the thread. ok undistandible i suppose, but this was not just about being a rossi fan, it was about being a race fan. 100 win's for a racer in our generation was historic yet there was silence from all the stoner fans most of which the most vocal being your countrymen. Yes its easy for some to be a rossi fan when he is winning likewise for stoner fans that appeared in 07. you may notice how few still remain. Where left with the hard core which is great as im sure you noticed the rossi fans that sill supported after 06-07 seasons. But the fact some did not even acknowledge this 100 wins just says there not true race fans , there just rossi haters.
Im glad you bought up saints fc as we sing a song in the stands sometimes. it goes like this

Yeap… WOW… 46.08, how about that!

Although Rossi needs to improve on his average wins in order to get 23 out of the remaining, plus 2 more Seasons, to crack the 'Most Wins of All Times' Record from Agostini.

2009 Races left = 11. 2010 = 18. 2011 = 18. Total = 47 races.

Needs 23, so 23/47=48.94%... Go for It I'll say!!!
