<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BEN @ Jul 10 2008, 08:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Price - £800 - £1000, for the bike alone everything else is seperate from this budget
Street Cred - Not important in the slightest, i want a bike that feels good to ride and a bike that looks good to me .
Performance - As ill only have it for a year or so it doesnt have to be the best performer in the world but within reason.
Cheap to run - Again not so much of a big factor, i wont be using the bike to commute to work ect, its completely for leisure at the moment.
On/off road - Im swaying towards the idea of getting an off roader, mainly because i would have no reason to get rid of the bike in a few years time when i get a bigger road bike. But my no1 choice would be a sports bike.
Speed - Speed isnt such a big issue, for now i just need a good reliable learning bike
Acceleration - same as above
Brand/make - In an ideal world id go for a Honda or Yamaha, but there probably most expensive ive seen in there 125 ranges.
Communting- only for leisure
Sunday Runs - leisure
All rounder - leisure
Droppable - I cant see myself dropping it , I have road bikes before and i dont intend on driving it any faster than is neccesary
Fixable DIY - It would be nice to be able to work on the bike and be able to do it up, for fun.

Your deffo going to have alot of fun. MAster the 125, then move up the ranks - just dont go direct access and jump on a 600 with no prior experiance!

Cheers for the advice guys

Supermotos and trailies are a shitload of fun. Looks better sitting upright at 60 than crouched on a race rep too!

DtR 125 would be a good choice.
