FINALLY CONFIRMED! Andrea Dovisioso signs for Ducati

Hayden v Dovi will be interesting. Who else, besides Jumkie thinks Hayden will hand Dovi his ... next year (assuming Dovi-Ducati deal is done) on the Duc?

I'm not sure Dovi is adaptable enough to be able to ride the Ducati but I think he won't do worse than Rossi.

Me !

no no , maybe i was unclear. i meant that both cal and dovi were keen on going, but as we all know ducati didnt take him in the end but chose dovi instead.

agree about redding, love his riding style and i'd suspect it could work quite well on the duc!

Ah yeah! Both just chasing a factory bike in the silly season.

Personally hope Redding can do what Stoner did on the 07 Duc to this one.

Hand both Dovi and Hayden their .....!

Not me. Well perhaps for the first few races but after that I think they will be separated by one place at most

Dovi can’t and never will ride the Duke like Stoner did!!! Please Ducati give UP and STOP getting Ities to ride or win on the Ducati’s!!! they are a waste of space and energy!!! Get Mr Stoner and then you will WIN RACES AND HAVE A CHANCE!!!

What a .... pointless post

With the right rider, Lorenzo, Stoner, Rossi, i believe the Tech 3 bike could challenge for race wins. Even towards the end of the 800 development, Spies led the Indy GP and finished a relatively close second to Pedro on the Tech 3. I think the biggest difference between factory bikes and satellites are the riders themselves. If you swapped Dovi and Lorenzo's bikes, i would still put money on Lorenzo. If you swapped Stoner and Bradl's bikes, i would still put my money on Stoner.

100% agree

Hayden will be handing Dovi his ... all year.

going against the masses again

I think that it's a great move by Dovi. The satellite Yamaka won't ever be this close the factories again, Jorge couldn't podium on one next year.

And moving to Red - If the failed Rossi/JB/Ducati era has done anything, it's given Ducati a ton of Data of what doesn't work. That could turn out to be quite valuable. It's more than likely that this will yield a completely different bike. One has to assume that they have reached rock bottom and there is no where to go, but up. And if Audi was prepared to throw a kings ransom at Rossi, they wouldn't do it without being prepared to dump some duckets into the bike. There will be more than a few surprises next year, there simply has to be.

Message from my friend, Dovi's Tech3 Electronics Engineer:

Ah sorry. Yeah I got your MSG was traveling at the time. Yeah dovi announces today that he goes, also maybe cal is going as well but we'll see. No idea who I'm working with next year. I'll still get paid next year so no real change....

I keep hoping that one day, one if these "updates" will be the fix. Like Hayden said "it's the last couple tenths that are the hardest" well, they aren't quite to that point yet . I anxiously hope for improvement. Even in the weekends that NH ran up front thru FP1 and 2 and fp3 even he can't seem to string laps together on Sunday to produce a result. I can't pretend to know exactly why. This being said I only hope for their sake they do find a solution. I personally do not see any magic in Dovisioso's riding (relatively speaking) so I'm not too confident that he will produce results or run up front. Just my opinion.

Agreed, nothing magical, but he is Italian and he can pick up where Rossi left off. Audi being involved should get the elusive tenths they are missing, but don't expect that until late 2013. It will suck for Hayden fans, just as Ducati becomes competitive he will be replaced by Crutchlow or another younger rider. I personally wanted Nicky to compete in WSBK this year, but it's not what he wanted...bummer.

I think Ducati will get a serious serious wakeup call from Rossi leaving. Hopefully with that saga over the heat wont be quite so high on them, they now know without any doubt or denial that they need a bike to suit a rider with a 'traditional' gp style and Dovi has ridden Honda and Yamaha relatively recently. With Nicky (always solid) on the other side and VAG behind the scenes (they rarely/never accept losing), I am ever optimistic for the future. For the good of the championship i hope they get there.

I don't know why they don't go back to the frame style Capirex was using when he was making his bid for the championship until Sete put a nail in that one. That frame was clearly something they all could ride. Heck even Bayliss one off'd a win on the thing.

Because with the tubular trellis frame no two frames were the same in terms of stiffness/flex due to the number of welds required and the difficulty of repeatability in weld strength/size.

Dovi deal done with Tech3 ? latest#

nah all Brit Tech3 then.

Still cant see why bradders has this ride is his manager the same as Rossy

:welcomeani:Dovi to the unknown
