Fiat Yamaha team launch with MCN

I can't seem to find similar pics of the 2008 bike, can anyone post'em for reference?

I also noticed that the Monster logo is across the front of Rossi's lid.

Re Monster logo - at least it's subtle unlike most monster sponsored riders' lids

Good to see Lorenzo went with #99. jezzers old number and he was as tough as old boot leather too.

This bike will fly, you can count on that !

isnt really to much difference but looks like the aerodynamics have been revised in a wind tunnel tho.

the tank looks lower for riders to tuck them selves in better at high speeds?

the angle of the front seems sharper than last years for better airflow more arrow like?

the edges of the fairing seem to be sharper especially around the front wheel area?

this years bike doesnt seem as tall as last years, maybe to be able to flick it quicker in the corners?

bigger output airduct for air to pass easier through the rads and escape quicker making it more areodynamic, improve cooling and stop air getting trapped in the fairing to help with top speed?

the bike somehow looks more compact?

maybe ive just smoked to much lol

nice
Well, You categorically state it's the most boring at the same time as there are quite a few here that find the Yamaha sound very good, people that has been on the tracks. That combined could result in the suspicion that you could be another clueless wannabee. If it's for not recognizing that others have a different opinion by being so categorical, it's probably because you never were there hearing the true sound. Either way, you still sound somewhat clueless
<

I'm not a particular yamaha fan but find the yamha to be the best sounding engine, while the ducati would easily get the prize for the most insane sounding.

i just love the soud of tuned engines no matter what config. It amazes me how some have opinions but no real experience. Hearing these bike's on the tv and hearing them for real is just a differant world as you and many others here know. Dont waste your breath on the ignorant mate

I've been to numerous GP's and found the Yamaha to sound too muted by its silencers, like a quiet Kawasaki. perhaps unsilenced it'd sound just as good as the rest, but it doesn't.

tom the yam isn't silenced... go to a race & hear for yourself. i like the sound of the yamaha it has a cool howling growl sound that makes yer neck hairs stand on end.

There are pictures of M1's fitted with silencers on this page, and it was certainly the quietest bike at the GP's i've been at.

those tiny little cans on the m1 are probably more for flame retarding

A bike doesn't have to be loud to sound sweet imo

Thats fair, i quite like the bikes as loud as possible especially when they have that rough edge to their sound. The Yamaha sounds comparatively friendly, although the science behind their long bang configuration is interesting the sound is less so.

I really HATE Harleys with straight pipes. It doesn't sound good and it's anoying a helle of al lot people, enough to enforce stricter noice regulations that hits those with a modest slip on.

The sound is as much a function of the engine internals, fuling and ignition, and how it comes out in the exhaust as the pure db level.
