“I do not like the situation. I do not like the MotoGP at the moment. We have several series in which the Honda rider very quickly, some more slowly, and the rest are worse,”. Ezpeleta continued,”as a result of competition is reduced, so it does not satisfy the entertainment aspect. This is not just a challenge from the technology side, it is also a sports and entertainment. I do not like this situation, so this should not be run any longer,”Ezpeleta asserted.

-Ezy getting ready clip the wings of those pesky Japanese overachievers

I’ll do whatever it takes to help the CRT bikes become competitive. If they need more than 24 liters of fuel, I’ll give them another 2 or 3 liters. We are in the entertainment business, not the technology business here.”

-Ezy making clear what the sport is about, in case anyone was still wondering

Motor sport is based on two pillars, technology and entertainment, if in time of crisis you have to choose between one or the other, you pick the show, because that is what brought the results from the circuit and televesion.”I want 2013 to be completely different from 2012″.

-Ezy making sure everyone gets it

We try to do the best we can, but there will always be someone who doesn't agree," Ezpeleta told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"In any case, that's no reason to change. I don't regret anything I've done. If Stoner has become a protagonist of this series he owes it to us too. When Alberto Puig indicated him to me after he took part in the Movistar Cup in Spain, we tried to give him a hand.

-Ezy showing the proper concern after a 26 year old reigning champion on arguably on of the best bikes on the grid leaves the sport, not because of medical issues or loss of interest for racing bikes but due to complete disillusionmnent with the way the sport is run

I am calm. Valentino next year will be riding a competitive bike, but I [can't] tell you what it is. It is still too early to talk about: in 2013 we will see Rossi fight for the win... again .

-Ezy showing his complete impartiality

"I want a Moto3-style MotoGP, four cylinders and 81mm piston diameter plus a rev limit and the same ECU for everyone." ... "better [racing] than in Moto3, because MotoGP bikes are bigger and better."

-Ezy shows he knows a thing or two about stimulating innovation and technology

"Yes Motogp is as scripted as WWF, always has been. I just don't like it when it's Paul Hogan writing the jokes." Ezy after that infamous coming together.

Wee need to add this to the quote list:

"We’re very excited to have the two top motorcycle road racing series under one roof. We fully expect to develop and strengthen the distinct nature of both MotoGP and WorldSBK as separate properties and remain committed to working with teams and manufacturers, circuit owners, sponsors and broadcasters to give fans the best experience yet," said Ezpeleta.

Translation:

Destruction of Wsbk. And when he says "best experience yet" he means, VR for another 5 years, continued Spanish force-feeding, and rules written in chalk to hand out titles, while appearing to be a proper championship. And why not, .... we already have fans stating that the "logical" thing to do is dumb down Wsbk in favor of GP. Makes the fox's work rather easy when the sheep accept it so meekly.

"In that case, don't come"

-Ezy making sure Suzuki feels appreciated for attempting a comeback. (Suzuki does not want the spec ECU)

well really, that last one is a good one.

why let zooki .... him over again.

fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me. fool me three times : is ezpeleta ....... stupid?!

"We show through CRT that a much cheaper championship is possible, and is not worse in my opinion. If you look at the difference between the first factory bike and the first CRT bike and consider the difference of the rider maybe the difference between one bike and the other is 0.5 seconds and nothing more, so why spend 3 million leasing bikes."

Ezy must of forgotten his golden goose VR is 1 second per lap slower. CRT 0.5 seconds nothing more hahahaha.

Has Stoner secretly been testing CRT's for Ezy? Or was that Ezy's plan, run Stoner on a CRT vs Rossi on a factory. Rossi knows how to make it a show.

I have some sympathy for suzuki, recently anyway. I think they have made it fairly clear it is the constant rule changes that they have had a problem with, and the control tyre rule which was an ezy rather than an msma initiative seems to have very adversely affected them in the 800 formula; they were quite competitive in 2007, much more than ducati were in the last year of the formula, and appeared to be getting to grips (so to speak) with the control tyre at the end of the formula, particularly going on de puniet's one off post-season test.

Another way of looking at things is that they were wise to wait and see if ezy was going to give them stable rules to develop around.

"They want to come back in 2014, but there will be a minimum period they will have to commit for. They asked about the possibility of coming back for one year, and we said no. ... If Suzuki wants to be back, they will have to commit for '14, 15 and '16 and be in line with the other factories."

-Ezy showing himself once again as a true master of irony by demanding long-term commitment from a manufacturer while his own commitment to rules and technical regulations is best measured in weeks.

Or the mouthpiece speaks for Dorna, Bridgepoint and CPPIB and they actually WANT a SHORT TERM (since when is 3 years long term vision?!?! commitment?
wink.gif

2014 ....... Casey makes a comeback on a one off Suzuki for a year.

Espelata would change his tune for that.

On the other hand suzuki not unreasonably have said on several occasions that the lack of certainty about the rules is a problem for them committing to the sport.

Caramelo would .... his pants. There would be a great disturbance in the force, Emperor Carmelo Palpatine would have to take control of the senate again.

Because every time 'someone' whines about the wrong guy winning it sets back their development continuity, they have said it, the uncertainty stretches their limited resources beyond viable.

The Rossi legacy (or the Stoner legacy) is having numerous factories and manufacturers thrown out of the sport on the back of damp tissues.
