I saw one of those at Laguna Seca. I would love to see an AMA class with those. Probably wipe the SBK times off the chart though.

Wish no more, they are supposed to start racing next year in WERA and AMA.
What did you mean by wiping times off the chart. You not suggesting that they would be faster than a superbike are you.

Correction-WERA 2008
AMA 2009

Its possible on tighter tracks, maybe?Remember in the 500cc days that some 250`s were up with the 500 lap times on some circuits.

Im sure there is a track somewhere they would be close but nothing the AMA Superbikes race on would be even close.

God bless Gavin Trippe, he is the only race promoter out there who "gets it".

"Spec bike, keep the manufacturer's colors on the bikes, and get the fan to id with the brand, the capacity, and the rider"

Where has this ingenious fossil been all these years?

Prototype racing is dying, spec racing is the wave of the future. Why? Because it glorifies the rider in the same way football glorifies the player.

The AMA needs to go spec. When the riders and crews are competed for, their salaries go up. When salaries go up, it improves their "star power" and gets people interested. When people are interested, the promoters and the venues start making money. When the venues make money, they upgrade. When the AMA has world class facilities, high salaries, a level playing field, and lots of spectators; global talent starts to pour in.

AMA is bust, they need to take some risks to survive. This is the biggest slam-dunk risk there will ever be. Supersport is almost already spec. It's the only event worth watching imo.
