I believe Fernati has done a deal with them for 2020, as his "I will retire on Hyo." plan .........

Actually Hyo's are a very raced bike.

In the US they are used in the ....WERA? series for mid sized twins.

In Aus. we have a similar series, and Hyo Aust. do a "racing package deal", you get the bike and parts real cheap if its for racing basically.

Some time ago in a European country like Checo or Yugo .... they had a Hyosung only series.

They are a very sensible and accessible bike to race ......... parts are super cheap.

They whoop their Japanese counterparts, all of whom whoop their Ducati counterparts by a long shot ....

Hey!! Maybe we could have HyoCRT ......... when CRT becomes too expensive!!
<
<
<

Hyosung have been around for over 30 years. They aparently made several of the Suzuki's ( SV650 and some of the smaller bikes or parts thereof ) When China started taking their work ...... they made their own bikes.

They made parts for many other companies ..... as an example ....... some Ducati castings look "very Hyosung" so that would not surprise me.

This is the type of .... that makes me lmao at some people with their brand loyalty, in the US I see it a lot with Chevy vs Ford and if they only knew some of those vehicles were marked up suzukis hahaha. Not a bad looking bike you have there, it looks what a gixxer and an f4i mated.

Absolutely Hawk, so many people are unaware of the 'badge engineered' component and subsequent mark up costs of their vehicles

LOLOLOL

Yeah it has happened for years, in all sorts of games ..........

Most folk are probably currently denying that:

Their Jap bike may be made/substantially made "elsewhere"

The Euro bike may be made/substantially made "elsewhere"

BMW actually means ....... "Bikes Made Wherever"

Their "Triumph" ......... is really a "Thai-umph"

LOLOL

I bothered to look into it and .... the Hyo is substantially Korean built ...... and from past experience ..... Koreans build good .....

No pictures of you backing it in Berry?

I have actually had it backed in Pete, " geez its stable" whilst doing so on one occasion, was my impression, along with "bet that looked good!"
<
<
<
I was rushing for a set of lights at a fairly populated intersection here, even off-direction for me ....... luckily no photo I say!! ( Red light cameras )

Its a commuter bike Pete ........ you did read that?

Funny you should say that. I've always thought the SV650 looked liked a cheap Korean bike. There's a blue one parked down the street from my shop that I pass by every day and I always marvel at how cosmetically similar it is to the Hyos. It looks like the engineers got stuck somewhere in the middle of the design phase before it was fully realized and they just said .... it.

Now Now ..... there's a lot of happy SV owners out there, don't spoil it for them
<
<
<

Actually after Suzuki went "elsewhere: to have the SV built, Hyosung actually hired the same Hamamatsu designers and engineers who do a lot of Suzuki's work ...... so you can kind of see it in the Hyo.

Don't just stop at the SV though .... Hyo has built several "Euro" bikes too, The 450 Enduro of "Bikes Made Wherever" has been linked to Hyosung I believe.??

Its actually a very stable bike in "slightly over the limit" situations. It would surprise you Curve .... especially after wrestling around that beast you have.

Does you bike get 2.8L/100km at highway speeds ( pretty much sticking to state limits ) ?

Will your bike get near as dang to 600km from a 17L tank on the freeway? ( I offer any R1 and CBR owners to race me to Grafton NSW to get this one to hit home .... ) Yeah thats right no fuel stops!! .... most R1 and CBR riders stop twice for that run ......... I could trundle along and whoop their collective arses without trying. ( thats assuming they don't have a fast fill canister and a team at each servo ......

Sir you cant polish a turd and you cant blow smoke up my .... I use to do state inspections and rode the Hyo's and "slightly over the limit" is right about 81 mph
<
..its a Chinese pocket bike on growth hormones. ive seen better welds and alloys on a girls wal-mart tricycle.

83 miles per gallon my ...
<
.dude not even with a tail wind drafting a tractor-tailor going down hill with a fresh wax job will you ever get 83 m p g on that thing.. anytime you wanna join us on a Texas Big Bend ride you give us a shout and bring your Hyo
<

that being said for your first ever bike its ok, something to learn on.

( mine will do substantially more than that ( see http://www.gearingcommander.com/ and plug in 17/41 sprocket combo .... not much work from stock either ) ..its a Chinese ( no the Hyosungs are Korean ...... have you checked wherever your bike is made Curve?

that being said for your first ever bike its ok, something to learn on. ( Yes they are ....... but also a good 50th or 60th bike as mine is ......... for the right reasons ......... whats your bike? an FZ? I actually have absolutely no use for an FZ ( unless I was given one
<
<
) ....... so which bike is better for me? ) I know several "elderly chaps" who have bought Hyo's ........ for their reasons, not yours, some would not be riding if their only choice was an FZ ....... same for me. Does your bike pop and crackle as you decelerate into a corner? do you feel the road? do you find it better to get the rev's right to change a gear? The Hyo is "raw" ..... the FZ is not. That was a big reason for me to buy one.

Horses for courses though, if you like your FZ? enjoy it for your reasons I say, not what others say.

My Hyo is really annoyingly good on fuel though Curve, it really is
<
<
<
I've gone 480km before I decided I'd better fill up in case there isn't another fuel stop.

Hey speaking of you USer's "polishing turds"

http://www.fischer1....motorcycles.htm

I rode one of those, and its the biggest .... up of a good base product ever!!

The exhaust is attrocious. They didn't even balance the pipes!!! The original Hyo SS exhaust is a thing of beauty and function ( not the muffler .... the header to the exhaust flange ......... the muffler is a good wheel chock for a tank or a boat anchor .... I made a new one a tuned it over a few weeks ......... superb. )

They softened up the suspension to an alarmingly dangerous feel, especially the front!!! terrible, dives like a seabird when you put the brakes on ......... what is it with you guys and a few bumps!!?? How can you sacrifice that for safety, handling and control!!??

but .... the beauty is they slowed it down to scooter speed ....... by gearing it down!!! its a shocker!! I got off the Fischer and back on my bike and decided to accelerate up to what I felt I had done on the Fischer ........ the Fischer felt at 60 like my bike did at 90. Talk about you guys "polishing turds"
<
<
<

other Hyosung rebadges are:

Italjet

Griffon

Naza

Now Good day to you sir!! consider yourself slapped in the face with my Spring/Autumn weight ( relatively heavied by sweat ) long leather gloves!!

Oh ..... And I told you before, I researched "Big Bend" and its a big Gay Campout isn't it? ..... to which I have to say .... thanks for the invite, I'm sure you are a very attractive man and all, but I am just not naturally "interested" ( or even curious ) in that way! I would also add that I would defend your "right" to "polish all the turds" you like and in whatever manner you like, so long as the other party is consenting.
<
<

We get guys all the time wanting us to buy their Hyo's, chinese scooters, chinese scooters with training wheels, etc. I have seen Hasbro and Tonka with better fit and finish, lol. The problem is with most of those at least here in the U.S. is that they are really just thrown together without any care or thought of a final product. Now the Hyo's I will say are a tad bit better than anything the Chinese make, zongshen anyone? lolol. Why even bother with those bikes etc, when you can easily find a used bike with ten times the quality for in around the same money? It may have some miles on it but it will be a better machine overall. But no matter, if you like the Hyo's then ride em till the fall apart.

So I would be better off with a used SV650 you reckon? ..............

<
<
<
Get real ......... see why I don't get bike work done by "bike shops"
<

Bet you won't be saying "chinese crap" for too much longer
<

Reminds me of back in the day when all the Butaco, Montessa, Husky, Maico, DKW even CZ!!! riders would look at your bike and refer to it as a "Yamahahaha Jap crap" ........ they'd be at the back of the field every race .......... but they still thought the winner's bike was crap cos it was made in Japan
<
<
<

aww dont get all butt hurt cause i dont like your toy
<

you like it, thats what counts.Berry i know things as of late have been tough for you and the girls. i'm here for you bro Lean on me..when youre not strong.. ill be youre friend,

ill help you carry on..

Nice line I'm sure, and I'm sure it works many times for you, but look Curve .......... I just don't "swing that way"
<
<
<

PS. I actually revel in the fact that folk such as yourself "don't like my toy". It takes many types to make up a world ....... otherwise there would be just one type of bike out there.

Oh and on the girls ..... yes, they are tough on me!!

A bike should be something you ride for the sheer thrill of riding a bike. Perfect Sunday morning through the hills. I don't really get the whole commuter thing unles you live in the middle of a city with .... traffic (which you don't).

I don't see how you can get that sheer thrill from a Hyo, and I don't give a .... whether it gets 2.8L/100kms (and even trying to sell it based on this makes you look like a knob).

But, if it pulls your strings Barry, and makes you happy, then good on you. Its just not for me.

So out of the Mid sized bikes what would you get Nuts?

I don't live in the city, my most popular current commute goes from 200m from the sea ... travel 70km's? .... to "wine and mine country" ........ it gets pretty scenic both ways and every day is like a "weekend ride" or going on holidays
<
<
<

And to suggest anybody would rather do it at say 5L/100km than 2.8L/100km for the same speed ........... I know who is the knob
<
<
<

You'd rather just suck and burn superfluous fuel to do the same job that in reality uses the same amount of energy/power would you !!?? What a ....
<
<
<

To what aim!!??
<
<
<
You like burning fuel? making carbon? stopping to fuel? ..... get real.

Or are you suggesting that at say an R1 at say 120km/h is using more power than a Hyo at 120km/h ??? ie. to do the same job ....... Propel me at 120km/h? and you like using more power to do the same thing??
<
<
<
<
( this is actually what many "unskilled" riders do in reality ....... how many newby riders do you see riding around revving the clap out of something that they could be riding two gears up!!
<

Its rare I take a car because I know how nice the ride over the mountains is going to be.

Hey Barry, I'm with you here. I use my bike as my transport. (apart from in the depth of Scottish and Orkney winters these days, I'm nae spring chicken noo) I ride a Honda Transalp, most of my bikes have been trailies or adventure bikes, all day comfort, nice torquey motor, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg to keep in tyres. It also lets me head into the hills on gravel roads and green lanes if need be.

I believe the transalp is "heaterless" like my Hyo too isn't it
<
<
<

But you know, on those cold days that I ride, I actually feel way better for it. When I arrive on the bike, from the moment I stop I am warming up. When I get there in the car the moment I step out of the car I never seem to be warm enough.

So long as I have the right gloves I'm fine. I had handgrip heaters, thin under grip ones cos I use very slim grips, but I thought I might go without them this year .......... its bloody hard!!

Might even put up with a set of fat Oxford heated grips next year ........ I'l be as old as you then Petrified Pete
<
<
<

PS. WTF you doing with a transalp Pete!! thats an all time Classic right there!! Too goo for the likes of you!!
<
<
<

Wish they'd make a serious modern version again, very useful bike here.

Aye your right, the Transalp has nae heaters, but the brush guards keep a bit o wind aff your hands. I run my bike all year round, (the Americans were shocked by this at Silvo last year!) but I came to the conclusion that uk drivers don't look for bikes in winter (or any time but winter is worse) and that I was thinking I was going to get taken out by some .... with their windows steamed up an the heater full blast. When I didn't have a car I used to laugh at the guys who had driven 3 miles in their car to get to work coming in shivering coz their heaters hadnt kicked in, and coz I was dressed properly to ride the bike I was warm when I got there!

Do you actually get real cold in Oz Barry?
