Donington Practice & Qual

IMO pole means nothing when Edwards can run around at the bottom half of the top 10 on race tyres for most of the session and then end up on pole. I believe this is a big factor in why pole has not secured a win so far this year. I haven't done the research but I wouldn't be surprised if the fastest rider on race tyres during practice has secured the win each round.

As far as Stoner on a pole winning lap - another 'if', IMO there are far to many 'ifs'. Its what actually happens the matters not what could have happened.

I hope like most of you that Nicky can get in there and give it a good go this round.

After qualifying I am confident we will see a Stoner victory especially if it is dry. No one matched his race tyre pace.

Babelfish and Tom,

It is not me who is telling you Stoner was doing the pole, all experts in Autosport, Eurosport and also from Motogp.com was claiming. Just sum the partial times.

The last one, in lap 20th, Stoner was riding with the qualifying tires, and, in T4, he marks 22.551. In the post lap, the last one and the supposed to be fastest, the miss caused a 23.185.

Summing the partials until T3, we have:

Stoner: 1'06.005
Edwards: 1'05.894

just 0.109 off the pace. Now, if he'd made T4 in right manner, taking comparision from lap 20th, a 22.551, made with qualifier, his final time would be around 1'28.5xx. Edwards lost pace in T4 and would be there where Stoner would take the 0.109 back again.

Stoner miss the gear in T4, he did.

Agree 100%!

Someone else looked at Stoner's pace? 1'29.0xx with race tires. Rossi was the nearest 1'29.2xx.

tomorrow in warm-up, i'll wake up and maybe see in motogp.com "Stoner leads the way in warm-up".

When Stoner leads the warm-up, means Rossi has trouble.

By the way, another twisty track without long straight where Ducati suits very strong, if not strongest. First was Turkey, second Le Mans and now Donington. Each track I get more confident Stoner will be the champion.

Cool quaifying yesterday, really surprised that Edwards was top but like it's been said before he will probably only go backwards. But really good to see Hayden up there, Pedrosa could win this one in the dry, in the wet, it could even be West..........just anybody's race. How cool is that........unless your watching and getting wet
