Well, the circuit is just over 4km long, including the Melbourne loop, so across the infield from the bikepark ain't far. Less than 1km I'd guess.

Last few times I've been I've watched from up the bank midway between the Spitfire and the Spark Plug (it'll make sense when you get there) which is on the infield opposite the old hairpin. You get a good view of the riders coming from Hollywood, down the Craner Curves, through the Old Hairpin, under Starkeys and up the hill to McLeans.

So get there early

I've found that if you get there before the motogp warmup starts it's not too bad TBH.

Hi Guys,

Sorry been away fro a while i have been really really busy. Im off to Donnington tomrrow but have to call in at my mates to pick up my bday present - bloody cheek! So leaving mine at 8am and hopefully leaving Nottingham 10am if not before. So when is warm up and will i have a night mare trying to pitch my tent somewhere half decent? Never been to Donnington in fact its my first Motogp, been to cadwell 2x for BSB but thats it. Im getting excited and looking forward to taking rossi home with me on my birthday right after his race hahahah - like that will ever happen in a million years!

Anyone got any tips- i was planning on walking all around the track on all three days (sounds like that will be a bad idea) but maybe wander to a few close points whilst the main race is on on sunday - is this a completely stupid idea, is it a case of if you wanna see the race and not someone head then sit still and tight. Im taking my camera and i've ordered the fastest film jessops have now which is 800 apparently everything else is discontinued now because of digital - so im hoping i get a few decent shots.

Is there entertainment in the evenings and if so where ie is there a race hut thing like at cadwell?
So any tips / advice?

Hope everyone going enjoys the show :)

Just make sure you avoid at all costs Crash's rendition of 'Don't stop believing'

This dude is amazing at PR. He puts on concerts, great interviews, and backs it up on the track. Get this man a factory ride already. I mean, he must be selling bikes left and right.

He's a genuine regular guy...and he really wants to deliver. Massive talent, huge self belief, but modest with it. Like Nicky, he's a real nice bloke and a real asset to the paddock.

Failing all that, on the telly in the Redgate pub.

That's buggered that up then;...although you can obtain a commanding view on raceday from the grandstand that's just been erected immediately behind where this shot was taken, (providing you are prepaired to pay the doubtless exorbitant fee, in addition to the extortionate ticket price race fans)

To all you people going to Donnington over the weekend.
Have a great time and remember to keep up your fluids.
Amber one's that is.

It only comes around once a year so make the most of it.

Enjoy - I'm jealous. Several months until our GP.

anyone know where this is with the tv, might be a good spot.....

Dazza's right - it's halfway down towards the Melbourne loop. Dead easy to get to from the 'esses' entrance. Get a spot early though, because it's a very popular viewing area.
